I like bone conducting headphones. But the microphone on these is absolutely atrocious and if you accidentally triple click instead of double clicking for the next song it redials the last call.
yes. are you expecting audiophile quality, no. main benefit is spatial awareness when running, cycling, or working in the office.
Might be harder to tap into the 2-year warranty though thru ebay, which Shokz is pretty good about honoring. I just got a new set of OpenRuns after my headband snapped after using it heavily for 18 months.

I got these as a gift in October and I use them for work, and outside mowing the lawns. For work people say the audio is good, a little hollow but it's warm enough tonally that it's acceptable for Teams. I also use it to stream Spotify from the same computer and it works well enough that I don't have to blast music to zone out.

I like these because they don't fatigue the ear canal like traditional earbuds, and allow for environmental awareness.

I also have glasses and these fit over the frames, YMMV.

Anyone know how these compare to the Shokz Open Run Pro Premium (twice the price)? My wife has those and I like them... but would I be disappointed with these?

I'm curious about this as well.

I bought a set of these for myself almost a year ago. Haven't been able to use them for the last nine or so months because the wife liked them and stole them if that tells anyone whether or not they're worth picking up.

I would get the openrun pro instead. They sound amazing after EQ. Sub bass is lacking, but it will go down to 150 hz with minor distortion after tweaking. It also complies with harman in ear target from about 250 hz to 3000 hz with some minor bump from 400 to 700 hz. It's impossible to fix the 5000 hz to 7000 hz dip but everything else sounds perfect. I find them more enjoyable to run in them than a galaxy buds2 pro because those ear tips seems to get sweat inside of my ears. Coming from a bud style, it's refreshing to be able to feel everything else around while running.

I have the non-pro OpenRun and an older version of the base model similar to this one. I would say you will likely be disappointed. The base model got the job done, but the OpenRun are so much more comfortable and have much better sound. I particularly like the way the OpenRun model drops down behind the ear before going back around the head vs the way these go straight back from the ear. You may not need the pro model, but I highly recommend a step up from these.

I bought these for use in the office and returned them a week later. The ear pieces are plastic, rather than the soft rubber the rest of the headset is made of. This made for very uncomfortable wearing.

I contacted support and they informed me that the Open Run and Open Run Pro have the ear piece made from the soft rubber.

They're more angular and way less flexible. Sound quality is a little worse, but they're pretty comfortable and lightweight overall. At this price these are a great option, but as mentioned above the microphone on this pair is not great.

I don't like the way bone conducting headphones sit on your head and certainly don't need them, but I really want to try them. It seems trippy.

Have some old Aftershokz. Love them, but they are starting to get pretty beat up. I bought Shokz Open Pro during holiday deals, but returned them cause the fit wasn't right (tight enough). My old ones seemed to feel more secure and kept in place in the sweetspot, and the audio for me didn't get that much dramatically better. Wondering if these will be different.

Obligatory Do these actually work?

In most jurisdictions it's illegal to drive, motorcycle, or cycle with headphones or earphones in. This allows music and navigation while maintaining awareness and abiding by the law.

Is there a different model with a better microphone ?
I got the Opencomm 2 UC's back in June at a tradeshow that Shokz was presenting at. A former coworker was raving about them and introduced me to them at the time. Since then these things have almost never left my ears. I almost wholly switched from my Powerbeats Pro headphones for these instead.

But to answer your question the Opencomm 2 UC has a boom mic that swings backwards over your right ear when not in use. I do a lot of meetings on Zoom and Teams and also use it with my phone. Everybody says the mic quality is really good and the noise cancellation or pickup of outside audio is incredibly low. As of right now I've been using these headphones for 11 hours and they still show they have 60% power. I also wear glasses about 30% of the time and they don't interfere with my headphones either. Honestly I often forget that I have these things on and wear them even when I'm not even listening to everything. Since they don't cover my ears I can carry on conversations with coworkers, customers, my kids, etc.

So yeah, I'm a huge fan. But I have absolutely no experience with any other Shokz headsets.
