This pedal is a delay / looper. So what it does basically on delay mode, creates an "echo" which you can control, the speed, the amount of repeats, the mix / volume of the echo, and a few more diff settings. The looper setting will record what you designate and let you loop it over and over again, so you can practice layering, or soloing. So, no this will not change the sound of your guitar. It is still cool.
Also I would never recommend ever putting metal strings on a nylon guitar. The string tensions are wildly different. Could mess w the neck, bridge, etc. all in all, do not recommend Smilie (not saying thats what you were suggesting, but maybe).

Thanks for posting this. I've only been playing for a couple of years, mainly with a Godin Multiac Encore nylon strings guitar and a Fender Acoustic 100 amp. Would the effects on this pedal allow for a more electric-guitar type sound? Or would that require metal strings and a different type of amp?

This really is a great deal, I don't need this, but used via reverb history, looks like this goes for $160 used. So if you wanna buy it new for this price, and if you don't like it, you aren't out that much if you go to sell it later. I think it's worth it if anyone wanted to take a chance on this.

Thanks, this definitely helps! I wouldn't change the strings (I'd just get an electric guitar if I ever need metal strings) but I was curious about what the included effects would achieve. Based on your description, I agree that it might not be the best choice.

You would want a distortion pedal. They're meant for electric guitars, but some people use them on acoustic for a unique sound, similar to what you'd hear from an electric.

A modeler unit can give you amp and fx simulation.. or there are free options for pc/mac if you have an audio interface and monitors.

There are also multiple nylon electric options including the latest Ibanez Tim Henson nylon electric.

Yeah, my son just got overdrive and a distortion pedal for Christmas. I plugged in my acoustic (metal strings) and it sounded just like an electric. Wild! Depending what sound you want, they make overdrive, distortion, and metal pedals. Each one sounds progressively more edgy.

This is a great deal, for a mk2, this was selling for list price on reverb for awhile. I can't think of a delay in this price point better. I have the original but grabbed this one. I plan to use it with my eventide timefactor.

I've heard and read that it's a bit tedious to use and tweak if wanting to dial in a lot of different tones and set presets? Do they have a way to import presets onto the unit or interface with a computer/software editor for easier tweaking?
