While Patagonia is expensive and definitely I only buy at good sales. It isn't just the environmental impacts they minimize but also the conditions of the workers that make their clothes. Fair wages, safe working conditions, etc.
Sure, you can get way cheaper clothing but most of it is from sweatshop factories that employ children and have awful conditions with low wages.
They also repair clothing and encourage people not to keep buying new. You can sell back their stuff to buy something else used or new.
So, while I can't afford a closet full of their clothes-the stuff I have has lasted years and they've repaired stuff to give me more years.
Just because some people make it a type of status thing-the price of their clothing is going to improving and sustaining employees in developing countries and not just making the rich richer. Too bad other overpriced brands don't do the same but still cost an arm and a leg.
Exactly. When you wear your Patagonia, everyone knows that you spent an extra 100 which no one else have and that commands some extra respect. Also, some of their patch jackets literally shows that they are made up of recycled or used plastic and nothing shows that you care for the environment more than that.
what's worse ppl potentially threadcrapping or calling ppl poor for the perception of threadcrapping.... a look into the latter's mind...

My Tech Fleece Hoodie that I bought in 2016 still keeps me warm. Worn and wash a good amount but still looks and feels new.
