If your area is relatively dry, and you only print PLA, maybe you don't need one.
Add in PETG, and lots of times a spool will arrive so wet even in the sealed packaging that it can't be used without 10+ hours in a dryer.
Don't even attempt printing with Nylon without a dryer.

If you're printing every day, more than likely you're printing through PLA faster than it would absorb moisture.
For my family, the novelty has worn off and we print when there's a need or use. Tried to print some supplementary pieces to the kids' marble run they got over Christmas and the filament wouldn't lay down a good layer. 3 failures in a row in the first 10 mins. Dried it. No issues on the 4th run.
Also ordered some storage bags.
Here in the Southern US, less than 45% humidity indoors is considered great in the summer.

And yes it is definitely necessary even if you only print PLA. The only way you wouldnt need one is if you are literally in the desert like southwest, Phoenix etc. and even then you will still get spools from the factory that aren't dry.
I literally dry every spool before printing it makes such a difference. I also print from the dryer as the model I use allows it. But if you're cheap you can just dry it in the oven or on the bed plate.

It's rare for me to need to dry PLA, but it does happen on occasion.
