When you buy most of these FanFlix movies you usually get a choice between Vudu (Walmart) and Apple for redemption. These codes once redeemed transfer the movie license to your library that lives as long as you do. While there have been instances of censored movies being substituted I don't see it likely you'll lose your library.

The big players who aren't in Movies Anywhere are Paramount, MGM and Lionsgate. The issue is over Disney owning Movies Anywhere and having them charge a large yearly licensing fee to the other studios that isn't discounted based on their library size.

Paramount is a $10 billion dollar studio. They aren't going to shut down. Their movie library will ensure someone will buy them out. I'm not sure who pays the streaming server fees, but I'm guessing that is why Movies Anywhere doesn't do TV shows (low value for the large amount of streaming server data someone has to host).
In for D&D. I was originally convinced that I would not like it, but I enjoyed it.
Having a problem deciding on a second movie that doesn't often drop as low as $5.

As I always say don't support companies that don't support MoviesAnywhere. At any point the service could shut down, and you would lose your digital goods. With Movies Anywhere, your digital goods are transferred to other companies that support MoviesAnywhere.
I stick to Movies Anywhere and Vudu. If it's not MA I make sure I get it on Vudu, personally. I don't typically use the MA app, I use Vudu so I have access to everything.

Walmart hasn't owned Vudu for a few years now.

The D&D movie was surprisingly good. Wife and I really enjoyed it.

That said - it's a one-watch renter.

Sling Blade redeems on Apple and is also currently delisted there. That might be a reason to get it now. I really enjoyed rewatching it!

If any of these interest you, double check your intended platform directly first.

I value iTunes/Apple first, then direct MA redemptions second.

Varsity Blues, for example, is $7.99 on Fanflix (and you have to buy a second movie) but only $4.99 directly on iTunes.

You must not understand how the service works. It copies the license to all other platforms. If a platform shuts down, your copy exists on another platform.

MoviesAnywhere is a catalyst/ bridge to all other services. They are not interconnected. If MoviesAnywherw shuts down, the bridge is disconnected but the copies are still on their respective platforms.

I agree with other posters about certain platforms never shutting down, but it is a possibility and it could happen. Apple could shut down their service in favor of a better platform and decide to not migrate their data. That would be consumer suicide but it's just an example I wanted to provide
I do understand... See thing is the argument Paramount is not a MA partner.
If for some reason Paramount pulls digital streaming rights from Vudu or Apple or Amazon then there is no recourse, You just lose the movie or movies you purchased.

I said if Movies Anywhere ( MA) were to shudder , disolve and fold.. Then what's the difference ?

Where will your Movies Anywhere purchase be then ? If you say back to the parent company that license the movie... example : Universal , 20th Century ect ect.

How is that any different that buying from FanFlix > through Lions Gate, Paramount and redeeming on VUDU ?

If VUDU and i only say that , because VUDU is the largest shared VOD streaming service that holds your current library of MA movies, Are you not putting all your faith that VUDU and MA will still be around in 10 years ?

The only way to secure your purchase is to buy Hard Physical Copies of the movies on Bluray / 4K UHD because sooner or later all Digital content will get wiped, lost or accounts hacked.

Roll the dice how you like, but Snake Eyes will eventually come up.

To each their own. You sound like you have a lot of axes to grind.

I (former D&D player) and gf, who never played and is hit or miss w/ fantasy movies, thought it was a really fun movie.

I lean to the right and typically give those type of movies an eye roll as does my cousin who is more to the right. We both watched and had a laugh and didn't feel like it was bad at all.

You don't buy from MoviesAnywhere. You link all of your other digital movies providers to it. Vudu, Apple, Amazon, etc. When you buy on Vudu, if the movie supported by MoviesAnywhere, it will show up on Amazon and Apple.

In this case, Paramount is a not a part of MoviesAnywhere. Instead you just move it to Vudu (or wherever) where it will stay. If Vudu (or wherever) were to shut down, your digital movie is gone.

I agree that physical is the way to go, but MoviesAnywhere is the next best thing. At least the digital good will be on other platforms in case one shuts down.

To correct you because you are mistaken. Movies Anywhere has a ( Deals ) tab.
That Deals tab list all current MA promotions. This would include M.A. partners.

So yes you can buy movies on MA website that way you will always know the movie you purchased and redeemed through your digital carrier Fandango/Vudu, Amazon and Apple will be MA supported.

That being said , to think Digital purchases is safe from ever being lost, stolen, shut down or edited is just wishful thinking.

as with all media, the format will change yet again in 5 to 10 years and digital libraries will be obsolete. Think Data Implants , Think Virtual hologram projectors. The format of 4K is already being replaced by 8K and soon Servers like VUDU wont be able to stream 10 million customers copy of Avatar 6.

If one has always chosen VUDU over iTunes, does it make any sense to start doing iTunes now instead?
