Wanted a bit of an opinion from the house. I am planning on getting this for my mum, who only requires a laptop for light office work and productivity, maybe a bit of media consumption with YouTube. This seems like a really good deal for the price. The processor is plenty powerful, very portable footprint and weight, display is sharp and bright with 300-nits FHD+, port selection is excellent and battery size despite being small would probably make good use of the efficient Ryzen processor and get her 6 hours of screen time, I reckon.
The two main downsides are the soldered RAM with no extra slots, but I reckon that she won't need more than 8GB; and the 45% NTSC which again, would not really make much of a difference to her.

More opinions and feedback would be appreciated.

A bigger and better screen might be more important for that case.

I don't think you can get a better screen than this for this price.
Going for a bigger display would compromise the portability.

This seems like a pretty decent deal. I already have the blanket all state coverage for Lenovo machines, even refurbished they will fix it usually.

Right, I agree that's good price for the spec and a bigger screen may cause higher price. I actually bought a laptop for my mom too recently with a 14in screen. She is pretty satisfy but wish to have a bigger screen (mainly used for browsing). She didn't notice or focus on the performance much, but the difference of a bigger screen can be noticed easily based on her needs.

You should get this one for your mom. RAM is really the only issue that can't be corrected; you can always hook up an external monitor with or without a USB-C docking station. SSD can be swapped out for a higher capacity drive.

It's eBay refurbished, so you get 'like-new' condition and a 2-year warranty from Allstate.

Bought the last one - it's thin and light - good for my daughter at high school.

Just received - looks a decent laptop, light, not as thin as I thought. Build quality is good.

I like the backlit keyboard and the screen. USB charging is a plus.
