I have been scared to watch part 2 since it was released for fear that it might ruin such an iconic and nostalgic masterpiece of a movie like the original has been in my life

Really up to you and how much crystal clear video contributes to your enjoyment of a movie. Personally, I wait for 4K on special effects heavy movies like Pacific Rim, but don't really care for comedies, especially old ones. 1080p still looks great if your TV/monitor has decent upscaling

part 2 is nowhere near as good or funny as the original, but it is also not so terrible it destroyed my love of it. It was a worthy watch, and for 5 bux if you don't already have it, a solid deal for both.

btw if you haven't seen Tacoma FD already, it's a great watch for any super troopers (or broken lizard in general) fan

Part 2 is a bit "out there" compared to 1st one. Definitely not as original more like small skids, but overall it's worth a watch and those who watched the 1st one years ago once or twice and doesn't remember every scene by heart, just watch 2nd one first, you will enjoy it more, except the lengthy unnecessary scenes. Then you can watch 1 and appreciate it more. I would buy if it was 4K but at this point I am not sure it's worth getting these at HDX for archival quality.
