Doesn't say nonstop, so looking at march dates for the $999 pp option:
JFK assuming 1stop, flight ~500/p with TAP/turkish and other similar players or ~800/p with British airways/lufthansa/etc. tier airlines
2 nights of accommodations at Leonardo Royal Hotel Venice Mestre or similar in Venice ~95/nt
2 nights of accommodations at PopApartment (studio apartment) or similar in Florence ~91/nt
2 nights of accommodations at Hotel Pineta Palace or similar in Rome ~130/nt
Rail from Mestre to Florence (tourist class), Rail from Florence to Rome (tourist class) - no idea what tourist class is but looks to be about $25/ea for business class. So $100 for this

So rough calculation of 1750-2350 for $1998, Maybe a deal if they use the bigger airlines, but if you're doing this anyway, seems easy enough to book your own and save

Just got back from Rome/Florence/Venice two days ago. The place is swarming with tourists, and I wouldn't even think of doing this in the summer. 2 days per city is fine, although rushed.

Any recommendations are best airlines (price-wise) to go to Italy? Can't seem to find anything from Columbus / Pittsburgh / Cleveland under $1600 pp for June ( or any summer month). Thats why I can't can't wrap my head around these prices even though they are from a major airport like Chicago or NY and include hotel

Having been to Italy five times, I would suggest that two days is not nearly enough for Rome.

Venice? Sure. Florence? Yep. Rome? No way.

I'm not sure if this travel agency will work with you, but I've booked travel with an agency that had a groupon where they'll let you change the return flight dates out further, providing you cover your own accommodations for the extra nights... and pay any additional fee if the flight is deemed to be more valuable. In the past, it's worked out where the return flight we ended up taking was CHEAPER than what they had proposed, making the package even cheaper. So we were on the hook for slightly less than the value of the deal plus the hotel stays. This gave us a lot more flexibility in where we could go.

In the five times we've traveled there, we've been to:

Rome (all five times)
Venice (twice)
Naples (three times)
Capri (twice)
Pompeii (twice)
Positano (once)
Verona (once)
Murano (once)
Amalfi (once)
Florence (once)

I was last in Rome around Valentine's Day of 2020. The city had gotten notably dirtier (to me, anyway) from when I was there just a few years prior.

Positano and Capri are a must-visit. Unfortunately, the ferry lines between Capri and Positano were not running (non-peak season / cold weather?) when we were last there.
Yep spend at least 3 full days in Rome ... 4-6 is better.

After reading all of the comments in this thread, all I learned is people who've gone to Italy love to talk about how they've gone to Italy.

IMO, Rome is at LEAST 3, preferably 4 days trip, and Florence 3 days. 2 days in Venice is perfect.

My wife and I are planning on a vacation to Italy in June. This price seems to be decent and I like the idea of having everything taken care of. We would prefer to stay a couple days longer than this is offering. Has anyone done one of these before? Can we extend the stay? Anything else I should be concerned about?

In case you haven't traveled to these cities before. You can spend 2 days in Venice, no issues. 2 days in Florence is OK but you'll be quite rushed trying to see the key spots. 2 days in Rome is simply impossible. You will barely scratch the surface of one of the world's greatest cities and you'll wind up not enjoying it.

My wife and I used Groupon for our Honeymoon in Italy a few years back. We really enjoyed it and were able to take mass transit everywhere. The hotels weren't swanky by any means, but we thought it was a great value. I also used Groupon for a trip to Ireland back in 2011. Also a great experience.

You missed the Como and Lake Como Area!
5 trips to Rome? Wow... why? Go to Switzerland. Much nicer and prettier!

People are underestimating the speed at which you can travel if you really want to. Outside of high season it is entirely possible to see most of the major highlights of places like Rome and certainly Florence within a day, maybe two. Especially if you travel with someone who has been there before, isn't afraid of using subways and can walk at a steady pace. Also: know what you really want to spend time on and avoid major time drains you aren't that interested in anyway.

i.e. if you want to see the Vatican museum, but you really only want to see some of the most known works: plan ahead and take straight shots to see those. Want to see the Spanish Steps? cool, but do you really need to walk up and down or sit down for a while or is all your interested in just being able to say you've seen them? cool. treat them as nice set of stairs and move on. Or another example outside of Italy- if you're in Paris for instance don't go up the Eiffel tower unless you really really feel like you need to. Or don't go past the first level. Another huge time drain to take away from everything else.

Also: if you're going to be out and about: don't go for a fancy hotel or any hotel that is further away from the landmarks if you can find a decent bed that is in a much more central location. I agree with a poster on the previous page: this will not allow you the option to be more aggressive on time.

I mean, we've brought our kids to Disney world and plan for the chaos. I guess if you hate people or are oblivious that it's going to be busy, then yea it probably sucks. We are planning to go to Italy our first time next year, and plan for it to be touristy.
I'm a former Imagineer. You ain't seen anything yet, especially Venice. And there's no Fastpass or Lightning Lane. It's not touristy. It's a theme park.

It's no surprise you think Rome is crap if you're attempting to push through the city in 8 hours.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Nor should anyone expect a quality experience in just one day.

Speeding thru a place would be much better accomplished in Japan. Precision and efficiency are part of life. Italy isn't like that. Rome is much more than a series of attractions and is nothing like Disney. If you think the food is crap, then you obviously have not spent any energy finding food.
I've been before. And there is only one good meal to be had in Rome, it's at Alfredo Alla Scrofa. I've done the research, Google it. The food in Rome is crap compared to Florence or even Milan. Venice isn't good though. The 'best' pizza in Rome that locals hit is Marni, and it was worse than Blaze.

Fake news. No way you have time to see all those sites in any meaningful way in a day - especially when you are coming on a day trip from Florence. Just Google map all the locations and see what the commute time is in total and peeps will know this is B.S.
Happy to share my photo album with you.

We also thought Rome was kind of an overated city. We were there for 3 days. Kind of sad seeing all of the artifacts the Catholic church has plundered in the name of God.

Having lived in Rome for 2 years you can easily do Rome in 2 days. Will you miss stuff? Sure, but a touristy trip itineary like this isn't for trying to hit everything.

This is one of those deals that going in blind and not wanting to do research, sure, good value, but this for sure smells like a Slickdeals extra kickback promotion type post.
