Just a heads up: EcoFlow refurbished units are very hit or miss, and are looking more and more like they're mostly a miss. They rarely ship in like-new condition as promised on their website (https://us.ecoflow.com/pages/refurbished) and the testing is not rigorous. Don't be surprised if it shows up filthy and/or inoperable. It looks like EcoFlow is just re-boxing customer returns and shipping them out to new customers, or is really lax in their QC for refurbished units.

My own personal experience: I bought two Delta Pros in the last big sale that showed up here. One showed up throwing a 303 error code, stuck in 50Hz mode, and unable to pair in Bluetooth. No labels for serial or anything. Both units showed up with dirt/dust/pet hair on the outsides AND behind the port covers. Both had leftover adhesive on the outside from something that was previously stuck on.

So far, EcoFlow customer service is replacing the inoperable one. I'm in a dumb conversation with them now whatching them carve out as much ambiguity as possible from the term "like-new".

I'm mailing back my 4th replacement refurbished Delta 2 that was DOA, when they swore up and down that 'we promise to have your replacement thoroughly inspected and tested before sending out, due to such the inconvenience you've had to go through'…

pshh… let's see if a 5th is the charm. BTW I paid $800 months ago for it before any sales and all I've been doing is reboxing and driving back and forth to FedEx instead of being able to use any.

Be warned, you may get one of my duds just sent back out lol

Am I missing something? Isn't this just a universal power supply?
No. The U in UPS is Uninterruptible, meaning the power supply switches to battery so quickly that electronic devices (e.g. desktop computers) don't turn off.

For what it's worth....I got the Ecoflow River 2 Pro refurbished deal through ebay a couple of weeks ago and it's been great so far. It came in pristine condition and has passed my limited testing so far.(I've never used it for solar though.)
I've read similar to what you've stated here, so I was kind of nervous, but glad (so far) that I didn't get a dud.

Fwiw, I bought a refurb Delta 2 extra battery during the last sale. Other than the box it shipped in, it was indistinguishable from the Delta 2 I purchased new.

This is a pretty good deal IMO. I got the delta 2 with extra battery for ~$1000 at the Home Depot deal. The downside of that setup is that the extra battery can't do anything on its own…it can only be a slave/secondary unit for the delta 2 pictured here…so having 2 delta 2 units may be preferable in some cases…though I doubt they can hook together the way a delta 2 plus extra battery do
You could plug one delta 2 into another delta 2. When one unit runs out the other is still topped off at 100% ready to take over. I plug UPS's into my delta 2's to make the delta 2 essentially a perfect UPS device with no delay, also extending the life of my actual UPS or extending the run time of my UPS during a power outage. I love these things!

I would stay away buying from ebay. IMHO, the reason manufacturers use ebay is to make returns impossible for a small fee for ebay. I had "very bad" experience with ecoflow with "river 2" - I bought direct from ecoflow (refurbished) and wanted to use this as UPS for my garage door but it had constant annoying sound. I had to go thru hoops for RMA from ecoflow. Imagine what kind of experience you will have with ebay. Stay away from ebay and ecoflow.

Basically yeah-giant UPS. The word generator is too generous. It is useful though. If you lose power in winter, you can run this indoor and plug in a space heater unlike a diesel generator that cannot be used indoors due to the exhaust

Well, lets be honest, not really a space heater as that would suck up all the power very quickly. More for a grid down scenario where its powering refrigerator, a tv, maybe your modem and router.

Very tempted to get one or more of these just for brief outages. What would be good vs overkill? Live in a major city and do not have outages that typically last longer then 6-12 hours and maybe then once a year? So won't need a whole house solution and won't need to have it probably power the furnace or whatever. Mostly for convenience items and versatility. Maybe 2 of the pros? Or one delta?

Thanks, according to the energystar.gov site, it looks like used equipment doesn't qualify?

"Used (previously owned) clean energy property is not eligible."

Are you sure? I think they discharge synchronously.

Just for phones, laptops, router and maybe a lamp? I would get 2 of the river pros at this price for your situation.

Just got power back after 24hrs of power loss at Portland... Is the 720Wh enough to operate the garage door opener?
