Before people start spouting nonsense, the MC warranty does NOT cover burn in.
Officially you're correct. Unofficially, as someone who worked there for a number of years, they do some pretty wild stuff for customers who complain angrily enough.

Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank

I bought a refurb 65C2 from Microcenter last year. It worked fine for about a month before it started having really weird video processing issues, ultimately refusing to power on after two months of owning it.

LG support was useless, as there are no authorized LG repair techs in my area apparently.

In the end, LG refunded me the cost of the TV.

I did some research online, found that this problem typically indicates a bad main board. So I ordered a used Main Board off eBay for like $100, installed it (it's relatively easy to do so, all you need is a screwdriver and a 2nd set of hands to help you lift the TV up and lay it flat) and that fixed the issue. TV works good as new now.

They've got a 55" C2 for $800. Worth it?
Absolutely worth it. That is what I'm using and love it. I dread my next TV purchase because I won't be able to go back to a midrange TV 😃

Heads-up, no more warranty covering screen burn-in…tried this earlier (tried purchasing a 3 year extended warranty).

If I'm wrong, please call me out, I want to buy this…
Jeez these noobs freaking out about OLED burn in. Are you watching static images with your tv set to vivid torch mode. If you're watching one show with the same logo day in and day out for months, sure you should probably get something else.

Nope. Best Buy has the 65in c2 open box for under $800.

Bought a refurb C1 from MC a few months back and it has horrible dirty screen effect. LG did their stupid remote analysis via static photo of the diag screen which is a nearly impossible way of picking up DSE. I complained like hell and they sent a tech out but refused to analyze anything other than a static image of the diag screen. Tech tried to talk to them but they absolutely refused. I spoke to MC and they were SOOO awesome about it. Picked it up for free and then delivered a refurb C3 in exchange.

I have no idea why anyone remotely concerned with burn in would even bother. It's been said time and time again …..it's a non issue. If you don't believe it, stick with LED

Had nothing but success with these refurb LGs.

If concerned, grab a warranty.

I just got one home. The box dimensions on the page are off a bit from mine.

76" x 12" x 43.5"

Unfortunately it looks like my TV came with the wrong remote so I often see "Registering new Magic Remote" followed by "This remote is not supported by this TV" although the remote lets me navigate the menus and stuff I can't hold the settings button to go straight to settings and there seems to be some advanced magic remote features that don't work. The remote is MR22GN which seems like it would be for the 2022 models (B2, C2, G2, etc.) MR23GN [lg.com] appears to be the model for the 2023 models like this C3.

55 hours powered on
Minor dent on the edge of the TV stand but otherwise is in good shape.
It came with software version 3.20.06 and I just finished installing a 1601MB update to 3.30.60 now. After the update downloaded, the TV said that the update would be applied the next time I restarted the TV. I powered the TV off with the remote then waited a minute or so and tried powering it on again. It eventually showed a webOS screen with an icon at the bottom that appeared to be saying not to unplug power. The TV appeared to turn itself back off after a short time. I tried to turn the TV back on and saw the webOS screen again. To make a long story short, the update appears to take a while (maybe around 10 minutes) so its probably best to be patient. Eventually the TV turned back on and proceeded to the home screen.

Once you cut the two nylon straps holding the box together you can lift the entire box top (and sides) off instead of trying to lif the tv out of the box like I did...
All large screen tv boxes are designed this way, although it's a common mistake people think they need to remove the tv from the box.

As someone who purchased a C2 refurb from MC last year. I just wanted to say that I was able to register my tv with LG directly. By doing so I was able to get the 1 year warranty, so don't let the 90 days scare you. I can't remember the exact amount of hours but mine had a very low count out the box. In the time I've had it, I've had no problems and just ordered the 77" C3 for pickup.

New 77 inch C2s and B3s are $1999 at Walmart and Bestbuy. Do these refurbs come with extended warranties or the full factory warranty?
NIB 83 C2 is $2249 at Best Buy outlet store if you have one near you… YMMV stock is very limited. From what I've seen they tend to get a few units in every couple of weeks.

Why this over a new S89C for 2k from BestBuy? It's the same TV as the S90C for all intents and purposes, no?
