I really hope folks take a minute to scroll through complaints about woot.com on the Better Business Bureau [bbb.org]. Many of the complaints are about this product, specifically.

There are a lot of unpublished features that Microsoft doesn't advertise. One was super useful. So windows 11 doesn't close user accounts when you shutdown or restart. So let's say john signs into his account, loads and runs his software. He doesn't sign out. Jane signs in and runs her programs and doesn't sign out. Mom signs in and does her things and doesn't sign out. You log in and the computer feels slow. You see all their accounts hogging resources. You restart the computer, and they're still hogging resources. You can't close their accounts in the Home version even if you're the admin. But with Pro, you can go to the command prompt and sign them out even though you don't know their login credentials.

Echoing this - I purchased a Windows 10 Pro key from woot last fall - it wouldn't activate. Come to find out Microsoft had classified it as "pirated" and it took a few weeks for woot to get my refund. If you go for this, I'd definitely attempt to use the code sooner rather than sit on it so you don't miss the refund window. The whole experience has made me stop using woot entirely.

Group policy editor is the big reason for some people. Most of the extra features are geared towards small business needs so if don't care about them (see Reddit post) then go ahead with the home. Personally, I'd get the Pro because $5 isn't much. However, most people will never need the extra features. If you're asking if you need Pro, then you probably don't need it.

Forgot about that one. I always use pro and gpedit sometimes and I do remember doing that on a home system getting the warning you can't access it. And myself shaking my hand screaming "Newman!" Lol

Kind of nice to see this on woot. Except I can't get myself to get it because I hate windows 11 with a passion. I used it for 8 months last year and switched my system back to 10 two months ago. I had so many issues, and some of them eventually got fixed in windows updates but when I went back to 10, all the rest of the issues disappeared and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

Even Microsoft thinks 11 is such a success that they are already making its replacement already with 12 lol. So I'll ride out 10 till you can't ride it out no more.

Same here. Hate 11 and wish I could go back to 10. Way too many problems, none of which I had with 10.

Probably a dumb question, but how would I go about installing this on a new PC without an OS pre-installed since there isn't a USB that comes with it?

You can download a windows 10 image from windows and reinstall windows 10 over windows 11. As far as I know windows 10 and 11 keys work for both versions.
Please correct me if I am wrong so I don't continue to spread bad information.
