Not trying to be rude I SWEAR. I'm honestly asking what is this good for? Trying to figure out if I could use one these things just can't think of anything something else doesn't do it better AND for less $
This thing can transcode like a champ. Plus run a VM or some Linux or docker containers, and act as your nas. That being said this isn't a great price, especially with only having gigabit ethernet.

Exactly. Plex server and with a DAS which essentially makes it a NAS.

The beauty of these is processing to power consumption, in a tiny efficient size. It idles under 10 watts! And maxes out at 15 watts.
I have used it for Blender (modeling, not rendering), programming, and indie gaming. It is surprisingly capable. Very zippy around windows 11.
You can also power it through the USB 4 port. So single cable use is possible. It is also great for using with Xreal Air glasses. You can easily plop it down next to you on a comfy couch wearing the glasses and game/work in comfort.
This processor n100 feels like damn near magic. Before this, all these low end processors like the n5105 and below were just a bit too slow. For every day tasks, one could replace a power hungry PC with this, and not really notice any difference.

I use a similar mini-PC as a server for self-hosted apps like Immich and NextCloud. It works great.

I got an N100 mini PC with dual LAN, half the RAM and storage, and 1 HDMI and 1 DP for under $120 last month. This price seems a bit high. Maybe Minisforum is supposed to be higher quality than random Chinese brands? IDK, but not a good deal IMHO.
I plan to turn mine into an OpenSense router some day.

I'm using a cheaper version of this with only 8GB RAM and 256 M.2 as
- local home NAS server
- access all my movies/music (not Plex server);
- FTP server to access some of my files;
- IIS server for couple custom/private Blazor apps.

Any spare TVs in the house can make great use of these. Aside from media servers, often see these used for mostly static content on large screens ( think dashboards, scoreboards, etc. ) controlled using a shared KVM over the network (example: Synergy)

Use it for a router/firewall? Use it for a video game emulation station? A plex server?
