On the Drill bit extension holder with sliding sleeve - what is the sleeve for?

It can slide out over the screw and give you something to hold with your fingers while you drive the screw. In practice it's not very effective.
1 - i don't see one of these in this set. I believe what you're looking at is listed as a "impact magnet bit holder". Likely meant to allow you use the shorty bits with a driver. It would be called something like "magnetic drive guide" if it had a sleeve that you could slide out over a screw to hold it in place.
2 - don't knock them. They're very handy when trying to drive longer screws that are so long the magnetism from the bit is not strong enough to hold them. I don't always use one but I love them when screws get to 2" or more.
Black Friday...I noticed it on numerous tool kits...especially the husky brand that is normally $99.99. Alot of food prices/other goods also depend on diesel prices. Agree with weather irregularities though next year will be far worse than this year due to drought.
The pricing of specific sales of specific items has more to do with marketing than anything else.

$20 value is laughable.... Your getting like $4 worth of bits for $5. Better off with harbor freight or amazon cheapies that have a lot of more variety. Personally wouldn't recommend these for you garage or worksite, however for the odds and ends of household use that lives in your "junk drawer" this fits that niche nicely
