I concur. Having owned an Epi Les Paul and this, I would take this over the Epiphone. These play excellently and have a great sound with some flexibility.

Pass on the Broadtron pickups. Recommend finding a model with blacktop filtertrons if you want that Gretsch twang.

Repping for good deal.

I had a gold metallic one several years ago. Fret buzzed like crazy and for some reason couldn't get rid of it. I sent it back although the construction of the guitar otherwise was good. I recently bought a cheaper Gretsch and it is perfect in every way.

Whatever you like more. Both are good guitars. This will have better hardware, but for the price difference you can swap the knobs on streamliner. Pickup sound is subjective, you can check youtube reviews to hear both. Semi-hollow vs solid body is personal preference, unless you are planning to play it with high gain on a stadium, where semi-hollow 2655 can have problems with feedback. This is made in China, 2655 - in Indonesia.

I got mine today and first thing I noticed was that the neck pickup was half fallen into the body. Then I noticed that the bridge pickup cutout once. Finally, unlike other new guitars I got, there were no attached tags. So…. Did I get a return?

Maybe. When I open new product there's a specific care in which the manufacturer takes in packaging it. Just like when I open a box I receive from Amazon, I check to see if the cardboard it's packed in has "tension" or if it's loose. Loose board indicates previously opened. Other indicators are tape. Does it look like tape was cut or put in a different place? Then returned. I'd send that crap back immediately. Never put it past a company to repackage something and send it out knowing the crap shoot of someone just eating it.

If it makes you feel better, I got mine today and had the exact same issue. 1 screw on both pickups were not screwed in. I can hear the springs rattling in the chamber. I guess the guy who does that was not at work that day. It did not have a tag either. Beyond that, everything was in great condition. I don't think it was a return based on the condition of the box/packing, nothing seemed "redone" or anything like that. It plays great and sounds great. I'll be keeping it as long as it's a simple repair... Hopefully no issues with the pickup bracket that caused the screw to come out. Good luck!
