I bought the Lyra and it was not very bright at all. Cool effects but it's not ideal if you need to actually light up the room.

Not sure what you are doing in the app but it is very bright / so much that I usually keep it at 30/50 % brightness

Lyra is rated 1500 lumens. Not sure if that is enough to light up a big living/family room.
