Deal Details
The MP Mini SLA 3D Printer produces higher quality, more detailed, and smoother prints when compared to filament‑based 3D printers. It uses an LCD display to cure layers of UV photosensitive resin with layer heights as small as 35 microns. The printer is ready to print right out of the box. Simply pair it with your Wi‑Fi® network and add the included sample resin. It has a built‑in Web UI, which can slice and print model files without the need for a separate software package. It automatically calibrates and levels the print platform whenever a print is started, ensuring a perfect print every time.

1) Add an American style plug to your shopping cart and purchase it with this printer: P/N 7671
2) When you receive your new printer, replace the European plug* that comes in the box with American style attachment you just purchased. That's it! It's that easy!
*Please dispose of responsibly. Consult local regulations for proper recycling and disposal methods in your area.

The plug, if you need it.

I think this is a pretty good deal. The print bed feels small coming from a filament printer. I really don't want to get into resin printing. Someone talk me out of this.

The default/standard resins are smelly, both in use and during cleaning. The cleaning process will take (For these small models) a couple of quarts of 99% IPA using standard resin, or the equivalent in $20/liter "resin wash". The entire process is a lot messier than FDM because everything is liquid and it's all dripping when you take the prints off. Also, a 4" height is really, really small, especially when you'll usually rotate most models 30-40 degrees for optimal printing. And the parts are all very brittle - they make PLA seem tough.

Now, you could get some water washable resin (though you still should not was these in the sink as the wash water needs to have all the resin cured and filtered out before deposal. And you can get low-odor resin. And you can get tough/fracture resistant resins. To combine all three you will probably pay $45-50 per liter (aka per kg), and unless you hollow out your models and are careful to ensure there's no trapped resin - often requiring pay-to-play features on resin slicers - you'll be using more per model than your FDM.

OTOH, this has a mag build plate, which is super nice, and it's stupid cheap as long as you're willing to wash by (gloved) hand and cure in the sun (wash/cure station will set you back another $120-200). And you'll realize how low detail your FDM printer is and that FDM is terrible for models, and you'll want to buy a bigger SLA.

The first two paragraphs did the job.... But then you brought me back with the third.

This is a gateway device and you know it. Three months from now you will wonder why you decided that dropping a grand on a 300x180x300mm 14k (110MP) resin machine was a good idea. I'm at that cusp right now and the only thing holding me back is the two digit balance in my hobby account after buying a Prusa XL. Take two steps back from the keyboard and count to ten...

i looked really hard into getting this one last year - it has been on clearance for many months, e.g. see it at $70 here https://slickdeals.net/f/16923445 - but also read the comments - and given And Google will feature it every time when searching for "3d printer deal"

However, i searched far and wide and all reviews agree it is a TERRIBLE printer.

Never mind small dimensions. Last year i started with Cadet (tiny FDM printer which was on clearance for <$100 - that's rebadged Weedo Tina 2 though, different maker) from same Monoprice and was happy with it.

You know how any product finds niche fans that are able to make it work, given enough tweaks? I was inclined to be one of them, given the disposable price. Not this one though! All stories i can find are about people having to fix A, then having to fix B... and then having to buy a different printer. Do your own research, let me know if you reach different conclusion.
