It's not a bad deal, maybe even a good deal. But for the use cases of this laptop, you can wait for a better deal to popup. I can't speak to the quality of Acer laptops, but the two Asus Zenbooks I've had have been awesome quality.
Also compare e.g. the Lenovo Pro 7 Slim this month with worse specs (critically, the screen) for $440 open box.
