Not following you. This is a rechargable headlamp with a USB port for charging the lithium battery while it's in the light. Only reason to change out the battery would be for something better, as OP did.
Changing out the battery defeats the deal. Then you might as well buy a Sofirn or equivalent

It sounds like it has USB c charging but the stock battery is a little weaker 2000mah unit.
Convoy/wurkkos/sofirn 18650 headlamps will be about $20-$25 but far better quality especially if you get a 519a or SFT40 emitter. But, double the price.

I have a previous generation only one bulb and micro USB, have had it for 4 years probably and going strong. Just got this new gen 3 model a month ago. Super bright and usb c port. I don't know anything about lithium battery capacities though.
decent price, but micro usb? there are plenty of well reviewed aliexpress brands that have usb-c headlamps for the same price. boruit is the brand i usually go with. hp500, hp300 are 2 headlamps that have a very similar form factor as OP's.

Swapping out the battery it comes with is not necessary. I wanted the longer run time between charging. Plus I think I had picked up the Samsung 18650 for something like 3 bucks each or something like that at the time.

what you saw for sale for $3 is not the same as the $13 headlamp in OP and not the same as the $40 headlamps... that are also made in china.
