Hoka: The absolute best injury / recovery shoe on the market

Also Hoka: expensive, wear out easily within 6 months, and ugliest colors imaginable.

Still totally worth it to be able to be active with multi-year chronic plantar fasciitis.
Which version did you buy? I have serious plantar fasciitis now and I read that Bondi's are better for plantar fasciitis.

Aren't the Arahi stability shoes? From what I know they're better for if you're more flat footed and over pronate . Does wearing stability shoes like these damage your feet if you don't over pronate ?

Zappos has a 1 year return policy too - had a pair of Sperry's and the laces tore like 11 months in - they fully refunded me and sent a return label.

Does Zappos have a paid membership like REI too?

I had to return these. TOO HEAVY. They deaden the run too, you have no momentum with them. I mostly understood that going in before purchase, but I figured since they are for longer, slower runs it would be OK.

I have to slow down by around 30 seconds per mile on my slow runs as well, due to the heft and having to fight against the shoe. I've also fallen four times in the last 2 years, 2 with these and twice with the Saucony shift 2 (similar, heavy, support shoe.)

This is just my PERSONAL opinion. Others may love them, maybe I'm falling because I need to hit the gym and do some leg training 😂 Absolutely love my Hoka slides but heavy shoes aren't for me
You might find that their Mach 5 meets your requirements. The price will be discounted by 20% in a few weeks because the Mach 6 comes out in March. That shoe is feathery light and the midsole foam is supercritical.

Just received these and they are indeed the narrow size. My foot is VERY snug in these.

My wife and daughter run in Hokas, and this is a major issue with them, can confirm. They are on average going through 3 pairs a year, because the inner heel support blows out through the sleeve toward their achilles.

Thank you! I will give those a look. I've been doing runs in the Saucony endorphin speed 2, and pro 2.

I need something a little less aggressive and more supportive for the easier/longer runs…. Do you think the Mach 5 would still be a good option? Apologies if I'm being redundant, just want to get off the shoe carousel lol

I have had the Arahi for about 6 months now. You don't even feel the plastic in the heel or the carbon in the sole. Sounds like you have Gaviotas.

The Arahi are the best Hoya I've owned and I've owned at least half a dozen different styles.

I also run in the Endorphin Speed 2 and the Speed 3. The Mach 5 is definitely more stable than the Speed 2. It has a wider net base and a rubber infused carrier foam that adds some structure to the softer ProFly+ core. I use the Mach 5 for tempo runs 10km or less. Longer runs I use the Endorphins.

Bought these from Dicks. tried to break them in by running 5+ miles in them but no matter what i did they killed my heal. Thank fully Dicks let me return them. I do not recommend these as I usually do not have issues with shoes at all.

i have used a bunch of different hokas (bondi, clifton, rincon, challenger) for my PF related foot issues. they do vary within a model line (bondi 8 is different than a bondi 9, etc.) so you do need to try them out. i have liked them all, but some better than others.also highly recommend good insoles ($25 on amazon) and change out the insoles every few months.

What do you mean by "similar?" Same brand, different model? Similar look, not Hoka? Better model Hoka?
