my roommate bought me these for my birthday because he was "making passion" for eight hours a day for five straight days this one time and he didn't want me to hear it. i didn't know what the hell he was talking about but i was planning to be on vacation that week anyway. he didn't need to know that, so once he gave them to me i spent 5 beautiful days in the bahamas and the headphones really came in clutch, and he got to make all the passion he wanted. Win win.

Is this good for work calls? QC35II transmits local External noises to the voice calls
XM5 case is bulkier because the ear cups don't fold in. Minor quibble, but IMO they are more comfy to wear than XM4 (padding, weight)

I upgraded from XM3 and find them to be fantastic for travel. I had to dial back the bass significantly, but once I reigned them in they sound fantastic. I find adaptive ANC to be better for my needs but I still wish there was an option to disable it and use a static ANC profile.

Got mine from Secondipity (midnight blue) and they were essentially brand new in the case with accessories. Also, eBay warranties them on top so I would buy these with confidence.

I've had a refurbished pair for over a year, and they work great. Also very comfortable, although not quite the cushiness of Bose.

My biggest complaint is that they don't fold, so you need to use the bulky case if you put them in a backpack or risk damage. A little annoying when traveling by air, but I've adapted. Get the XM4 if that's a dealbreaker for you.

Probably quick returns. Imagine you go to Best Buy and buy them, don't like them or bought another pair to compare to another brand. If you know you're returning them you won't beat them up
I bought some XM3s from this seller. Still work great and they looked like they were taken brand new from the Sony Box and placed in a plain box. I'm tempted but I don't need them. Must. Resist.

I have purchase from this seller in the past (two pairs of the 1000XM3) and both are still working flawlessly. No battery issues.

Have bought refurb xm4 from them years back and they still work fine. Bought the silver xm5 during the holidays from them also. There were tiny black scuff marks that won't come off, but not too noticeable. Everything works and is still fine today. I have returned sony earbuds back, but it was because I ended up not needing them. Returning them wasn't a hassle at all.

I got a set of these back in July 2023 when they were going for $230. Though no retail box, they looked perfectly new. I have a pair of XM2s from several years ago that are still great, but these are even better for NC performance. There is one annoying thing, however--the stupid Speak-to-Chat function that is enabled by default. In this case, if you are listening to something on your computer, and someone speaks to you (or you speak), whatever you are listening to gets shut off. It does not just get paused--it gets shut off--so when you or the person finishes speaking, then you have to manually restart whatever you were listening to. This is at least the case with VLC Player--don't know about other media players. Whatever the case, there is a way to shut off this Speak-to-Chat feature using Sony's Headphones Connect app on your phone. But sadly, the setting does not stick and you have to keep disabling it, which is irksome because it means you need to keep the app installed instead of just installing the app, disabling the function, and then uninstalling the app. A two-finger tap on the right earphone supposedly enables/disables it, too, but I do not know if the setting sticks that way.
