my roommate bought me these for my birthday because he was "making passion" for eight hours a day for five straight days this one time and he didn't want me to hear it. i didn't know what the hell he was talking about but i was planning to be on vacation that week anyway. he didn't need to know that, so once he gave them to me i spent 5 beautiful days in the bahamas and the headphones really came in clutch, and he got to make all the passion he wanted. Win win.

Also got the WF-1000XM4 from this seller maybe 1.5 years ago now. One of the ear plug sizes was missing, well replaced by another, so got 2x Small, 1x Large, no medium, but bought different plugs anyway. They're also holding up great.

FYI - for those interested in the XM4 model - do a Google search for wh-1000xm4 green + toe (one word) and you should see a link to get them brand new for $210 in black or silver. I decided on them instead of the XM5 for the smaller, foldable form factor as I'll be using them mainly for travel. That, and they're brand new.

Giving these another go.... i've been a long time Bose QC35II user. When I tried the XM3 a few years ago, the ANC gave me a terrible nausea and vertigo. They were also not very comfortable. Hoping that I won't have that issue with XM5. Since it doesn't fold, I'll probably use it at home and still take the QC35II on flights (which is just a few throughout the year) with me due to comfort and size.

I know a lot of people say that they basically got a brand new unit, but my experience was the exact opposite. I was sent a pretty dirty unit with broken ANC. I promptly returned it and bought a brand new one from the site where you submit your own offer. I paid $258 for the brand new unit which is a lot more than $200, but I think it was worth the extra price for a new unit with full manufacturer warranty and peace of mind.

yes its the "speak to chat" toggle if you toggle that off then it wont disable ANC when you start talking. You can also toggle off "Adaptive Sound Control" if you don't want it to adjust as your moving around

Slightly off topic, but I purchased these a few weeks ago (non-refurb) and am noticing an issue. In transparency mode with no music playing, the right ear sounds a hair less transparent, or a bit more muffled. However when music is playing, it sounds balanced. Does anyone else have this problem or do I have a dud?

Just received mine. It's in perfect shape! Other than not having the retail package, there are zero signs indicating that this was a refurb unit. Very happy!
