It's always this price. It's not very good-gummy and leaves a lot of starch in the water. If you're using it for soup be sure to cook it first and drain and rinse it.

No deal here. Even Barilla goes on sale for $1 and it's a full pound 16 oz. This is more than that. It's only worth being a cheap usable subscribe and save filler at best.

Does anyone know where we can purchase 'pastina' pasta?
We used to be able to get it at any grocery store, stocked right along with 'elbows,' 'spaghetti,' etc., but that style seems to have just disappeared off the shelves...and when we look online, the prices are insane.
Thanks in advance!

This is the same price (or worse) than my local stores offer on their brand on sale, eg $1/lb. This is not a deal.

Edit: ran the numbers, because, hey why not. $.48/7 oz = $1.10 a pound. Lame.

I see it available at one local Walmart near me https://www.walmart.com/ip/San-Gi...gJUOfD_BwE

Check store availability to see what's around near you.

Looks like my local Acme also carries it, so if you have any similar Albertsons family supermarket in your area, check them out.

Very lame. I guess "Expensive Mexican pasta" wouldn't get the clicks SD wants.

This gets posted all the time and, other than being a cheap S&S filler to hit 15%, I don't know why it's gets any attention.

This is pasta for Mexican style soups (look up recipes on youtube). It is not very good pasta for European style (cook and drain) dishes. The reverse is true as well. Barilla makes for an awful mexican soup. At least for my family.

This. This pasta is for Mexican soups; mexicans tend to toast the pasta in oil before adding broth, etc. this pasta is basically what most Mexicans will buy for sopa de fideo, etc.
