I have the one with the built-in solar panel and it's been difficult for me to find the place where the sun hits the panel to charge it well. I ended up buying a separate panel to charge it.

I thought the built-in panel was going to be great as it would save me money, but I never thought about the positioning of it until it was way too late. Hoping my folly at least will get some others to think about it first.

With 8 GB of high speed storage built in, up to 3 months of footage can be stored locally at an average of 400 seconds captured daily. No hidden costs or extra fees.

It will just start recording over the oldest footage again unless you use the homebase 3.

It says zero additional costs but it's followed by up to 3 months of local storage - does that mean you have to pay for local storage, or it can hold a max of 3 months worth of videos?

If you were going to use a solar panel with this camera, their camera with built in solar is also on sale for $79.99, eufy solar panels are usually around $40 when on sale.

I am building a new construction house and have been struggling to catch a raccoon that I believe lives in the attic. House has no WiFi yet. Can I set this on the trap and then plug it into my PC to download or watch the videos to see how this guy has been eating the bait but not getting trapped?

"local storage" is in reference to manually added storage options. Most of these cameras have slots for expandable storage via memory cards

The base model is all you need but yes, you could do this setup if you use a memory card and transfer that to your computer. Might as well just use the app/website and set it to motion notifications though. I caught a rat in my garage with the same method and a base model eufy cam

You probably have cameras that still uses Homebase2. Homebase3 is not compatible with homekit.

Thank you for this. When you say base model, which one are you referring to? The one in this post or another? Thanks again.

Actually, I am not sure that it would work. I have the eufy s220 which I purchased to keep an eye on my chicken coop. Intent was to see when the chickens come and go and also get alerted to raccoons and such. The camera records when I go to the coop to feed the chickens, but when the chickens come and go it does not record an event. I also saw a raccoon out there the other night, and it did not record an event for the raccoon. I assume the programming has it ignore birds and other animals as they wouldn't be a security risk? I haven't messed with the settings too much to see if I can change that.

See previous post, but I am not sure this would work.
