I see this as a good way to get burgers, sandwiches or an appetizer, all the while just letting her smile and have fun. She's never thrown a tantrum there (she has at other places- which we immediately leave). They always give her extra crayons and paper.
Every Applebee's is different I'm sure, but at least my local one, the people are nice and the food is consistent (I have yet to get an inedible burger there).
