& OP! One of my parents enjoys their food and I'm contemplating this as a birthday gift for them.

And from the looks of it, most locations are participating except for those noted below:

What is going to prevent scalpers from botting all these codes and reselling on eBay?

It's PS5 all over again.

Some of these comments are ridiculous. All you need to do is go look at the menu online to see how much a meal is. Applebee's is not an expensive restaurant. An entre is no where near 50 bucks. Realistically, it'll probably be close to 40 dollars for 2 people on a meal that would be enough for the average person, so you might spend a little more than 30, sure. And no 2 cheeseburgers, 2 soft drinks, an appetizer, with tax and tip is not 70 dollars. Com'on man.

So pay with Credit Card, and if bankruptcy, you can dispute the charge as they didn't deliver based on what was purchased. It happened to me with paying in advance for one year of VOIP service with 4 month, into it, they folded, I disputed charge as total service wasn't rendered, and got money back.

Somebody still has to put the order together, make sure it's correct, add all the appropriate condiments, napkins, cutlery, etc AND haul it out to the car for you, so, yes, you should tip some amount. Nobody's refilling your drinks or bringing extra stuff to the table, or clearing the dishes, but they are working to get your order out correctly, so a tip is deserved. Prices have skyrocketed, and since topping is a percentage of that price, tips have gone up accordingly. Used to be a 10% tip for decent service and 15% tip for great service was customary. Not sure who decided that now it's 15% and 20% instead, again, since prices have gone nuts and percentages make the tip higher already, but you do you. Basically, decent service I give 15%, I didn't have to flag down drink refills, someone came to check if I needed anything and my order came "as-ordered", then good. If the server went out of their way, brought me "extras" or just really did a great job, I do 20% or more! If you can't afford to pay for your food and tip appropriately, maybe just do fast food drive through where no one is counting on service tips as part of their pay?
Yeah, foh with all that. It's a take out service like any other place. You aren't entitled to a tip for doing the bare minimum. If people want to tip then sure, but it's dumb asf to expect a tip when the bare minimum of competence was used to make sure you get the right stuff when you enter to pick up the food then leave.

They have 2 for $26 menu. You get 2 entrees and 1 appetizer for $26. Take that to go every week and you're set!

It reads that you get 52, $30 vouchers that can be used whenever just not within a 24 hour window each.

I'd get this if that was the case so I wouldn't have to go once a week.

Companies are smart. They have data showing few people will go more than 3 or 4 times, and some once or twice.

Few people are like us on SD who'll milk this for 52 times $28.

Where I live the most expensive appetizer is $19 and the most expensive burger (w/fries) is $16. That's $51 without so much as a soft drink. Tax and tip here would easily push that to ~$65, and I'm assuming most people get at least a soft drink. Plus, while I live in a high cost-of-living area in Long Island, NY; this is by no means the MOST expensive area in the nation.

There's really no reason to call this person a liar, it's within reason.
Lol long island NY is definitely one of the most expensive places in the US to live. You're delusional to say otherwise.

That's your fault for living in NY.
