& OP! One of my parents enjoys their food and I'm contemplating this as a birthday gift for them.

And from the looks of it, most locations are participating except for those noted below:

Just when I thought this year I'll be strictly following my "Eat Healthy" resolution 😳
i mean... putting aside whatever processing goes into it, you can do grilled chicken or sirloin and 2 veggie sides which isn't super unhealthy by concept

can i share a pass with others? i can't imagine myself going to apple bee's monthly, let alone weekly.
probably - i mean, the online order just uses the code. So 52 slickdealers could share one pass and each get a week for under $4

this is actually not a bad deal.
It IS a bad deal because the food is BAD. Everything, including the salad tastes stale and not fresh. I think they ship everything frozen to all the locations and each restaurant just heats them up to sell. I can't believe that McDonald's also uses the same principle yet their food just tastes fresher and therefore more delicious than Applebee's.

Somebody still has to put the order together, make sure it's correct, add all the appropriate condiments, napkins, cutlery, etc AND haul it out to the car for you, so, yes, you should tip some amount. Nobody's refilling your drinks or bringing extra stuff to the table, or clearing the dishes, but they are working to get your order out correctly, so a tip is deserved. Prices have skyrocketed, and since topping is a percentage of that price, tips have gone up accordingly. Used to be a 10% tip for decent service and 15% tip for great service was customary. Not sure who decided that now it's 15% and 20% instead, again, since prices have gone nuts and percentages make the tip higher already, but you do you. Basically, decent service I give 15%, I didn't have to flag down drink refills, someone came to check if I needed anything and my order came "as-ordered", then good. If the server went out of their way, brought me "extras" or just really did a great job, I do 20% or more! If you can't afford to pay for your food and tip appropriately, maybe just do fast food drive through where no one is counting on service tips as part of their pay?
That used to be called doing your job though. I also find it hilarious that doing your job "correctly" deserves a tip. Hello customer, I expect if I'm not completely inept at my job and do what I'm supposed to do, you will pay me extra! I'm sorry but nothing changed from that perspective, I'm not tipping even 10% because you put something in a bag. It was put in the container the same way it's put on a plate, by the kitchen, which isn't a tipped position. Further, here in NYC, they actually aren't even ALLOWED to put things like napkins, condiments, or cutlery in the bag unless you specifically request them (as a result of the Skip the Stuff bill). So you're literally taking a container packed by the kitchen, putting it in a bag, and you have your hand out for a tip? Um, no.

I tip generously for sit-down meals because that person is taking care of you. Picking up takeout is just not a tipped event.

I worry that this will be like Groupon deals where the moment they realize you have it, you're treated like crap and they probably 💩 in your food or say you can only order select items.

Only if there was an original post with a link to the promotion site where all the details would be available ...

Thanks so much! I think this might be a tough deal to get fingers crossed I'm able to pick one up. I do enjoy my local Applebee's.

So people are getting bent out of shape because the total was $63.46 - discount ($6.35) + tax ($5.32) = $62.43 + around $7.57 tip (which is only around 12%), is that right? So he lied? That is the total at his Applebee's, I did the math for everyone. Jesus, even if you take off the soda, he didn't lie. You guys need to get a life.

I already checked, there are no added fees for take out.
on orders now. TGI was the same until you used the 50% off coupon then the added fees came.
