Flood their account deletion team. If they are unable to process the onslaught of account deletion requests as stipulated by the CCPA, they are subject to fines of $2,500 for each account.
Anyone that created an account for this, put in an account delete request here: Privacy Web Form https://privacyportal.o After you select your state, it will prompt what type of request you are making. Select "Delete My Account and/or Personal Information" I'd suggest adding a reason along the lines of "I've lost confidence in Applebee's data handling based on the Date Night promotion technical errors" Source: This is linked from the footer of the Applebee's site. Subject: Complaint about Applebee's Date Night Promotion
Dear Applebee's Customer Service, I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the recent Date Night promotion offered by Applebee's. As a loyal customer, I was eagerly looking forward to participating in this event, only to be left utterly disappointed by the way it was handled. The promotion, which was advertised to offer a special Date Night experience, sold out in less than two minutes, leaving many genuine customers, myself included, unable to secure a reservation. What was particularly frustrating was the apparent lack of safeguards against bots and unfair practices that may have contributed to this rapid sell-out. It is unacceptable that Applebee's did not implement any measures to ensure that genuine customers had a fair chance of participating in the promotion. The lack of safeguards against bots and automated purchasing systems seems to have allowed unfair advantages to certain individuals or entities, resulting in genuine customers being left out. As a long-standing patron of Applebee's, I expected better from a company that prides itself on providing a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for its customers. The swift sell-out of the Date Night promotion, coupled with the absence of protective measures, has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I urge Applebee's to review its promotional strategies and implement stronger safeguards to prevent such situations from recurring in the future. Genuine customers should have an equal opportunity to benefit from these promotions without the fear of being edged out by unfair means. I trust that Applebee's will take this matter seriously and take appropriate steps to address the concerns raised. As a loyal customer, I sincerely hope that the company will use this feedback to improve its approach to promotions and ensure a fair and enjoyable experience for all customers. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution. Sincerely, [Your Name] |

That's a very mature coping mechanism. I prefer drowning my sorrows in $3 Long Islands on Sunday
*Any* publicity Applebee's gets among younger crowds is good publicity, because the 18- 35 demographic is going to label the issue "Boomers can't internet" and move on.

Not sure it matters if most people end up pissed off because they never really had a chance to get the thing that was being advertised. This kind of devious marketing/publicity typically backfires.
A big f-you to the IT admins at Applebees.
This is all the marketing dept. IT people typically have better scruples and cynicism toward scamming than to go quietly along with this.

Agreed. The IT people are just the ones doing the will of those idiots. The IT people are most likely given a set number of passes available, they input the number in and thats all. They dont make the decisions.
thanks for this!
I had the link. As the other mentioned you still didn't have a chance to put in cart until 12. I'm just a normal dude (subjective I suppose) but no bots or anything just got the link early somehow and still didn't get one . I refreshed the direct link until I had the chance to add to cart right at 12 . Told me 1 min until checkout and sold out 50 seconds later .
