For a limited time, reserve the latest Galaxy device(s) on samsung.com or in the Shop Samsung App and receive a $50 Samsung Credit ("Reservation Gift") when you pre-order and purchase the reserved device. Pre-order and purchase required. The Reservation Gift cannot be applied to the pre-ordered device(s) and must be used at the time of pre-order purchase towards purchasing additional eligible products on samsung.com, or in the Shop Samsung App. Reservation Gift will be applied automatically when you use the same email address during Reserve and Pre-Order Periods. Reservation Gift is a one-time use e-certificate; when first used, any value not used is lost and must be used at the time of purchase. The Gift is non-transferable and limited to 1 per Qualifying Purchase. If you return or cancel your purchase, the discount will be forfeit.
ACCESSORY CREDITS: Do I have to use the pre-order credit (for example, $150 at the time of phone purchase)? Short answer: If Samsung is doing what it has done in the past, no. As you're going through the checkout process, choose skip add-ons. You will see the credit in your cart. In the past, according to the Samsung invoice/order page, "Use your redemption at the time of preorder, or redemption details will be emailed within 14 days after your order is delivered. 90 days to redeem." **Double-check to see if this is still true for the S24**
Note: In the past, you had to skip add-ons entirely in order to receive the full credit later on. If you have a $150 credit sitting there and you add a $50 accessory to your cart you will get it for free but you will not get the extra $100 later on.
TRADE-IN OVERVIEW
SAMSUNG TRADE-IN PROGRAM TERMS/CONDITIONS [samsung.com]
SAMSUNG TRADE-IN FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS [samsung.com]
Overview: If Samsung is processing trade-ins like prior deals, you will receive instructions by email--along with a prepaid shipping label--around the time your new phone arrives. You can also print the label from your online Samsung account.
You will send in the phone only (no boxes, chargers, SIMs, cases, etc.). Phone must be factory reset and have no passwords or locks. Good practice: Make a VIDEO and take photos of the phone, including showing some functions, to prove the condition if Samsung challenges you after inspecting the phone. More details....
My phone has scratches [or burn in or faulty Bluetooth or fill in the blank]. Will Samsung accept the phone? Will the trade in amount be reduced? According to the FAQ, "Your device must have no breaks, cracks, or other defects that go beyond normal wear and tear." Is your issue normal wear and tear?
When/how will I get instructions for trading in my phone? Samsung will send you an email with the subject "Welcome to the Samsung Trade-In Program." The email will arrive anywhere from the day the phone ships to a few days after the phone arrives. It includes a link to download a pre-paid shipping label. You have 15 days from receipt of the email to ship the trade in. You can also get the shipping label for the trade in from your online Samsung account under order details.
Two commonly asked questions about financed and leased phones:
1. The device I'm trading in is one that I bought using an equal payment or other financing plan, and I still have payments left on it. Can I still trade it in?
Yes – however, please note that all remaining payments on the device you're trading in are your responsibility. You may also be subject to additional fees. Check with your current carrier for details.
2. lease my device. Can I trade it in?
No – leased devices are not eligible for this Trade-In Promotion unless you purchase the leased device from your carrier before trading it in. Check with your carrier for details.
SALES TAX
Samsung charges sales tax based on your State's requirements. Some s States charge sales tax on the pre trade-in price, other States after the trade-in is applied. This is not Samsung playing games.

While it's fun to upgrade, there were always 2 reasons - 1. Performance 2. Gotta have the shiny new thing. We finally arrived where performance year on year isn't Giant anymore (for everyday tasks).
I gave my s23 ultra to my brother a few months ago, and been using Pixel 8. Used to LOVE pixels, but coming from S23 ultra, I hate this phone. If I still had s23u, I'd love the S24U but just as a new toy. I wouldn't upgrade actually. However since I don't have s23u anymore, I ordered S24U from Fi and can't wait to get rid of P8.
Perhaps when there's a next breakthrough in phones, I'll upgrade again after S24U. Likely will be when a truly GOOD fold hits the market. I did Fold 3 and Fold 4, regretted both, and ZERO desire to do Fold 5. A wider screen if on Fold 6 won't be enough to take me away from S24U.. it will have to be either a banging deal on s25, an amazing new product, or I'll stick with S24U and it may just be the first time I'll keep a phone more than a year ! It would've been s23u if I didn't have to give it away.
After having the ultra version for several generations, I'm not sure if s24u is worth 🥴

S24 plus is the sweet spot for value
These would be the only reasons to upgrade:
- Free storage upgrade
- Free $150 Samsung credit
- Better CPU
- Flat screen instead of curved edges
Other than that the S23U is pretty much the same as the S24U since the AI is coming to the S23 also.
- Brighter screen (2600 nits)
- 50 MP 5X Optical Zoom
- WiFi 7 (Not a big deal, no one will get wifi 7 router anytime soon)
Thinking to hold out until trade in gets better. I'll bite around $200-300 but gez $500 is step for a phone that barely changed.
I did calculations of how much it would cost, and this is my summary: Trade in Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra (512GB) smartphone to purchase a $1,419.99 Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra (512GB) smartphone for $415.90 (excluding sales tax), and earn $150 credit to purchase products on Samsung.com.

Total Savings $1,116.69
Trade-In Discount(s)-$600.00
Bundle Discount(s)-$122.99
Promotional Discount(s)-$120.00
Education Savings-$123.70
Promo Code - EUREKA(redacted)
-$150.00
I DID NOT enter the coupon code. It automatically added itself at some point trying to check out the hundreds of times this afternoon. I believe the code showed up as a "bonus" the site added after I sat through part of the (very) sad "live" launch event. I was afraid that promo code might negate the CB.
If the CB wouldn't drop off the added discount would offset the current checkout overcharge and prevent me from dealing with the hell that is Samsung cart customer service.
In my case I have a Flip5 I really need to get out of via trade. The annoying drawbacks of the flip has eventually driven me a bit nutty. I have to make a move at some point in near future. Not if, but when. The only thing that makes me want to jump on a deal sooner than later is how fast Samsung usually runs out of the preferred accessories (cases and buds).

That was the last straw, and I gave up on my pre-order at that point.

Thanks!
Heck, the Education and Military discounts supposedly have the same percentage, and yet, the dollar amounts are different. Additionally, despite the dollar amount they showed me for the discount, it was actually higher in cart and at checkout (see the amounts I listed in the table). Samsung's website is a mess.
But as of an hour ago or so, all the Offers program discounts have dropped significantly.
