How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

"Get reimbursed over 24 months
Receive $27.09 off each bill for 24 months
The credit is tied to the person who activated the device"

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Google Fi deals!

My order got cancelled mentioning that " it doesn't align with our Sales Terms" . I am Fi customer. Had my line on hold and placed the order while it was still on hold. I was planning to resume service , once I receive the phone. Anybody else faced cancellation ? Useless support have no idea why so .

Cancelled the line mid June. Reactivated the account yesterday with a new line. Showing the $650 off offer on my account.
Did you purchase the line first and then check the phone offers? Because no matter what I do, I only see the 650 off over 24 MO bill credit "offer" on my Fi account.

Must re-activate the Fi service and then place the order.

This promo requires an active existing Fi account.

Is there anything that those of us who did the S23U deal from last year but are outside the 180 day window for "existing customer" can do to get the discount? I am only seeing 650 off in 24 month bill credits and I don't want to go that route.

Must have been a customer in the past 180 days, otherwise you're a new customer.

So existing Fi customers on Simply Unlimited get screwed

We only get $250 off the phone

i.e.

S24: $549

S24+: $749

S24Ultra: $1049

But if we were on the other 2 plans we would get the better discount? BUT you can't switch to Unlimited Plus , it won't take effect until your next billing cycle which is probably past when this deal is active.

So there may be a scenario where you DOWNGRADE to the Flexible Plan ($/GB per month) just to get this deal and then change it back later? So confusing and frustrating as a long time Fi customer. Why shaft the folks on Simply Unlimited for over $200-400+ more per phone?
It's my understanding when you upgrade to Unlimited Plus, the change occurs immediately.
When you downgrade to the Flexible plan, the change does not occur until the next billing cycle.

Another way to save money is to google: Google Fi r e f e r r a l s and take it from there.
Some from the last S23 Fi deal managed to get a few hundred dollars from those and free Fi service.
Using those with a couple of service suspensions one can still have a couple of hundred dollars of Fi credit today in an active Fi account to use with this new S24 Fi deal for the free 4 months of Fi service.

I don't know why anyone would take this phone over an S23 Ultra. It has a lesser camera system, only 5x optical vs 10x. No amount of "AI processing in the cloud" is going to change that.

Aside from the phones looking 100% identical (s23 vs S24) and probably are under the hood too , in terms of processing power and such, this actually seems like a phone downgrade. The only way this phone could have been an upgrade was to keep the good zoom camera that everyone loved and then add some of the AI gimmick on top of that.

Or just make a even better camera like a 15 or 20X optical zoom camera. People wanted the super zoom was a huge selling feature of the ultra phones.

edit: to whoever thumbed this comment down. I'm not alone on this opinion either, lot of tech journals are talking about why the S24 ditched the best part, the zoom camera.

Thumbs down because you are wrong about the hardware and that article doesn't support your claim about cameras being worse, just different.

The 24U is a better phone overall.

I've been upgrading my Ultra every year since the S21, and one of the main reasons is the improvement in the camera between generations, I like to travel and no longer need to take a DSLR to take great photos. However, generational changes are normally minor, so it is a personal decision whether the price of the upgrade is worth it, it has been for me.

The S23 has a 10MP sensor with a 10X optical zoom lens while the S24 has a 50MP sensor with a 5X optical zoom lens.

Would I have liked to have 10X Optical zoom, yes, but because the S24 has a larger sensor, and theoretically better photo processing, the S24's zoomed cropped photo should be better than the S23's 10MP Sensor with 10x Optical Zoom. I will test it out once I have the phone.

For those who reactivated Fi service in their account...did you actually activate the Fi service on an eSIM phone before the $650 off instant discount showed up in your account? As in you had to get your eSIM phone service turned on before the discount showed up?

Has anyone upgraded to unlimited plus (from simply unlimited) and had their offer switched from $250 -> $650 off for ultra?
