How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

Do you need to start up the phone and activate in order to meet get the discount? Or you can activate esim online, keep phone sealed, and let the time lapse for 120 days?

more details please. After activation and phone order, did your countdown show "Current Fi customer waiting to activate" before activation? and then after activation on same line, the countdown didnt start? doesnt make sense.

From the s22 deal , I activated sim and purchased phone the same day. That was a mistake! I dont remember exactly but the countdown did not start. It has been determined that after activating and becoming a customer you should wait 48 hours to make sure Fi's backend systems have processed you prior to ordering the phone,


Now the s22 deal was late 2022, the s23 preorder deal was early 2023. I did not participate in that deal so I don't know if any changes were made. Supposedly there was something about requiring 30 days active service but not sure if that will affect things this time.

Trying to debate upgrading from S23U. Anyone know what I could expect if I decide I want to upgrade in 6 months instead of now?

Right now it seems like you could get this Fi model, sell the S23U separately and break even plus or minus a little. Which obviously seems hard to beat, and that in 6 months I might be out $400-600 if I wanted to switch.

Correct. You can remove the SIM from the new phone. But you CANNOT use the GoogleFi sim in any other phone. If you do, the promo will void and you'll have to pay the full amount on the phone.
I did this on the previous S23 Ultra. Activated the GoogleFi Sim on the S23U. Removed SIM, marked it DO NOT USE, and threw it in a drawer. Put my TMobile sim into the S23U and used it as such. Once the 120 days was complete, I cancelled GoogleFi service and kept the phone.

devil is in the details. when did you have Fi service before that? maybe they have updated their systems, anyone who was a Fi member in recent past and ordered a phone on this deal can check the countdown. it should say under Billing/Fi Savings/In progress "Current Fi member activates device within 30 days of shipment". Grab a screenshot, then wait to activate and see if the countdown starts. If yes, good. If not, feel free to return the phone. Rest is all theory. If the Fi system didnt already recognize you as a current member, you would think it wont say what i quoted above.

i re-activated my accnt via esim and ordered. I also received the physical sim. I want to move from the esim to physical sim (in another device) so i can sell the current esim device. Do i just put physical sim in another device, download Fi app, sign in same account, and go thru activation with number transfer? And i should be able to go back to esim on the S24 when it arrives in same way without affecting the countdown in any way?

hi, I signed up for a new line on the fi and activated my number on eSim. is working so when will the promotion will show up?

it is showing 24 month credits for 650$
