under SIM manager, make sure pSIM is "primary" and can limit data to pSIM only.
How do I get to SIM manager? I see it in the play store, but the only button is to uninstall.

If your phone supports pSIM and eSIM, in Settings-->Network (and maybe down to Cell Service), there should be a SIM Manager function.

Should be under network connections in settings.

Does signing up now make you eligible? Do you have to port in?
Most have said it works. A couple people didn't though. According to a Fi rep, it may take a couple days for the billing cycle to start before the discount shows. If it doesn't, just cancel and you'll get prorated for the days unused.

I had a line that I cancelled back in March 2023. I wonder if reactivating that line would be a safer option

I think you can. But you can use the SIM Manager to designate the pSIM as primary and the eSIM is still "installed" but not used.

Reactivating an old FI account is a better choice than signing up as a new member.

Not as slick as last year's 23 Ultra deal. It was cheaper, 512GB, new customer. May be they have a better offer later?
S24U price has gone up by $100 so percentage wise the deal is same off, money wise it's $50 more discount. It's unlikely you will get better deal later. The storage upgrade to 512 GB for free is only available during preorder and sometimes during BF/thanksgiving. If you are trading in, this is best you can get by selling of s23U locally. I have tracking S23U deals with S22U trade in for the last year and it went down to $285 which with full tax on Samsung.com is still expensive than what you get by selling S23U locally. If you planning on upgrading from S23U this is the best you can do IMO

if you have a phone S23/S23U to sell, isnt it better to tradein/upgrade via Samsung and then sell brand new phone with the tradein/CB/preorder credit etc?

On a brand new Fi my billing cycle started Jan 19 but still only seeing 24 month credit via desktop :-(
Shop is also no longer an option in my iOS Google Fi app.
Giving it some more time fingers crossed.

Not sure what you meant but in Samsung website, if you have a s23U to trade, you will end up paying $592 after tax in CA for S24U. Using this deal and selling S23U for $600, it's $116 after tax (plus $120 for 4 months of FI). If you are buying S24U to sell it then it's another story.

if you get a phone on this deal, you have to sell your old phone somewhere. instead of trying to sell that old phone, i was wondering if its better to trade/upg at Samsung and then sell the new phone.

I see, I think you will probably end up with the same amount e.g. $592 for the upgrade and then you see it for $1200 will be $600. You might get the a little bit better if you can sell it for higher.
