How do you get this to work if you only keep it for 4 months?
Thought it's a 24 Month Bill credit?

"Get reimbursed over 24 months
Receive $27.09 off each bill for 24 months
The credit is tied to the person who activated the device"

Sorry for the ignorance but I'm new to Google Fi deals!

For doing the new customer for fi, would you do the payment in full for the 24 months or did you do the monthly pay and then cancel?
Payment in full. I believe it said monthly pay would require a credit check so I decided against that.

I think Fi phones are unlocked.. but you mean waiting to be able to use it with other SIM..
Fi phones are unlocked, you're able to use another sim like T-Mobile etc on day one. That's what I did with the s23 ultra from Google Fi last yr

Anyone planning on activating esim on S24 (by taking out psim first)? wonder if its worth any risk. i want to use my Verizon psim in there as its easier to move psim around temporarily.
Once you download and activate google FI app it will install the eSIM and transfer your number over. I have not done it personally but people who got pixels from FI it ships wihout a pSIM, hpham might be able to confirm if he has done it before.

It's not free per se. After $600 Flip4 trade-in credit, S24U is $595 with EDU discount and watch6 classic 47MM is $115.52 (showing regular price $429.99 FWIW). Combined total $710.51 with no tax for me.
The tax kills it for Samsung as they charge the tax on full amount where FI charges on the amount after the discount. That makes a big difference for CA

I followed your steps, but after I cancelled my order for the 24 mos deal, I see that that offer is still available to me if I want to do it again. Other people reported that that offer was no longer available to them after cancellation. Did that offer disappear for you immediately?
You have to give it a day. It will go away overnight. If you read the description of the offer, it says that it updates daily to track the offer so overnight when the job runs it will remove the new customer $650/24 months offer and replace it with the existing customer offer of $650 off.

When you ordered the S24, did you select pay in full for it or the monthly option?
I had selected pay in full.

yep that's true. Luckily for me I live close tp a tax-free state so I get to pick up the phone vs. having it shipped to me.

Yes, that's what took place when I activated the Fi Pixel 7 which didn't come with a pSIM.

right. but unlike the pixel, this will likely come with psim. question is if removing psim will mess anything up with the oh-so-sensitive fi requirements. if i had to guess i would say no, but i'd rather get confirmation from someone who has done this exact thing prior without affecting the promo.

See these two posts from aokusman (and some posts in between) in the S23 thread about activating the Fi pSIM first, then transfering to the eSIM, and the countdown keeps going.

Yeah, I believe the activation is tied to the Google account and IMEI of the phone shipped but it's good to get a confirmation. You can activate it on pSIM and then move to an eSIM too.

thanks. ill probably do the same, psim-to-esim, as it seems to have worked fine for that person. an extra step (vs just removing sim before turning on) but more peace of mind..

Followed the steps on this thread to finally order with existing customer promo. Total with taxes came out to $711. Delivery date for S24U Violet shows Mar 12-19 but hoping they will deliver it earlier than that. For anyone still trying, here are the steps again. I never had Fi service.
1. Sign up as new customer and activate your line with eSIM. I did this on 1/22.
2. Pre-order the Galaxy phone of your choice with the new customer promo of $650 off in 24 mos. Ordered on 1/22. Cancel this order once it shows up in your Manage Order history.
3. Wait one day. Today, on 1/23 when I am now eligible for the $650 off existing customer promo. My bill is not generated but I was still able to claim the promo and order.

Unfortunately, I am a day or two late as the delivery dates have moved significantly now. S24U Black was showing mid-Feb delivery dates.
I can confirm these steps also worked with my unused account that had been inactive with Fi for 2+ years. I did not sign up as a new customer, but just reactivated my existing account with a new Flexible plan + eSim in Step 1.

Note for me the instant off promo didn't show up till just before noon the next day (ET), so keep checking if you don't see it the next morning!

Yes. It's makes sense to move to the esim unless you intend not to use the phone at all with the Fi sim and can leave it at home.
