I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

FYI- Just spoke with a rep. of Spectrum, the S24 are e-SIMs only. There is no physical SIM.

Lou, does Spectrum charge card right away or when it ships?
Last time they charged me few days later after ordered. Some said they charged prior to shipping.

When the device is locked (before the 60 days), can you install and use a non-spectrum eSIM (e.g. travelling data sim)?

Are these these trade-in values in addition to the $700? So if I trade in an S23FE, I get $700 + $880?
No, according to earlier comments, the $700 is added to whatever the trade-in is calculated at. So just subtract $700 from the amounts shown to understand the trade-in value.

The info you are providing hinting that there is no physical sim tray for the S24 which is false. As far as I can tell, the S24 series support both physical and e-sim [samsung.com]. In this case, the spectrum rep is just saying they are only sending out the e-sim for the S24. You can still use your physical sim if you choose.

This is my point of view. Metro is 6 months and Spectrum is 2 months to unlock. From s23fe to s24+, you pay $120+tax. You get 512Gb vs 128Gb, more RAM, and better processor.
Exactly my thought process. I can purchase a different phone to trade in and sit on the FE for 6 months to make a little more. Or I can just trade in now and have an unlocked phone in 2 months.

how many months of service do we need to keep to get the phone unlocked and not lose the trade in discount.

Thanks for the info. I was often slightly tempted.

You only need to have active service for 1 month.
What do you mean, isn't unlock require 60 days?

Also has anyone successfully has the activation fee waived?

For folks who have done in-store regular trades with Spectrum before - think they'll keep the $700 bonus credit and just drop the double storage promo once the phone is out?

I have tried unsuccessfully many times to have the activation fee waived, both in-store and over the phone. I've been told the rep does not have the capability to bypass the fee. Maybe others have been successful?

That would be my guess, I believe Samsung is doing this with other sellers until the end of the month. Do we know for certain the $700 trade-in bonus will continue after Feb 1st? I've done the in-store purchase and trade-in and prefer it to online. You get the immediate trade-in reduction and in NY you avoid paying sales tax on the trade-in value.

I have and really like spectrum but I hate they put the stupid spectrum bootloader on their phones. If I was 12 again I'd put in the time to remove it but I just don't have the time anymore

Trying to trade in my s22 ultra 512 for an s24ultra 512, total seems to be coming down to 1415.24, with by the Gig plan. And on previous screen it showed 920 trade in value. I have a note 8 as well, not sure what would be better as trade in. Would waiting couple more days make sense ?
That's a no brainer. Trade in your sooo-out-of-date Note 8. There's no way you'll be able to get a trade in value of more than $700 from anyone else other than Spectrum.
