I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Yes just get the $14 by the gig plan. Expect to pay 2 to 3 months.
Can you just pay $14 for the first month, wait out the second month then ask them to unlock after the second month? No need to stay subscribed for the entire time, right?

I just added wiki re: how your credit comes back to you, Spectrum FAQ states

"How do I get my trade-in payment?
After your device is processed, you'll receive a credit for the assessed value. If you've paid for your new device in full, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your credit card within two billing cycles. Otherwise, a monthly credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal parts over the duration of the plan, starting within two billing cycles.

Additional details will be provided in your trade-in email from Assurant."

Don't let the in-store weasels lie to you, and please stop asking the same questions ad inifinitum.

there is a chance but yea, the bonus storage will go away

keep in mind if you have done multiple trades, like i have last year with spectrum, they block you from in store trades, have to do online lol
I'm not seeing anywhere in the terms that the bonus storage goes away after January 31? Am I just blind?

Someone should seriously put up a wiki for this. So many questions are being repeated and not read. The line has to be active in order to request for the unlock after 60 days.

I have and really like spectrum but I hate they put the stupid spectrum bootloader on their phones. If I was 12 again I'd put in the time to remove it but I just don't have the time anymore
What's the Spectrum bootloader? You can't remove it? Sounds like it takes up a bunch of RAM.

Bonus storage only during preorder period. Spectrum just follows Samsung. The regular $700 will stay for awhile.

So that sounds like you need to pay for 3 months of active service since you still need service after the 60 days to request for unlock.

I just got off the phone with spectrum sales and they are saying they will not put the trade in credit back to credit card. She confimed this with spectrum mobile billing. I dont know why they are saying this now....

I would recommend you try to trade it "in-store". Last year, during the S23 promotion, some Spectrum store in certain States accept the trade-in at the store. They didn't have to mail it in to Assurant. That way, you know for sure instead of finding out later your phone were rejected by Assurant and be stuck with the $700+ bill.

I have received a message in an email that PreOrder and trade-in are also available in the store and also confirmed with a local store.

When you do the local store trade-in it will be instant credit towards your phone purchase.

The processor in all of the S24 series is the same so the only improvements the S24 Plus has over the S24 base model is more ram and better screen. Given a fixed discount, it's always a better deal to get the cheapest option because the discount as a percentage of the total cost is largest for the cheapest option.
That's what I am planning to do, I can go from Pixel 7 to S24 base and get paid around $130, this is not going to be my primary phone anyway and not planning to upgrade S23 ultra to S24 ultra yet. As you said, main reason is processor is same across the series and I am more interested in checking out AI features should be available in S24 base as well. Also I heard Samsung would be pushing AI features to other galaxy devices and hoping that would include S23 ultra.

Store give you instant tiv credit only if they have the phone in stock. If store order it online for you then you still have to pay full price first and ship the trade in device yourself.

What state are you in, if you don't mind me asking, that will accept In-Store trade in? Texas?
