It states: " How do I get my trade-in payment?
After your device is processed, you'll receive a credit for the assessed value. If you've paid for your new device in full, the trade-in credit will be refunded to your credit card within two billing cycles. Otherwise, a monthly credit will be applied to your Device Payment Plan in equal parts over the duration of the plan, starting within two billing cycles.
Additional details will be provided in your trade-in email from Assurant."
If your device is paid in full it is supposed to go back to your credit card. I have done 4 of these and on all 4 they credited my Spectrum account, however each time a very short phone call with CS resulted in the credit going to my CC.
If you need a $40 trade-in phone for this deal:

If above phone not available, here is a $50 phone for trade-in deal:
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Tracfo.../456429801
WARNING
Make sure to turn it on and see if your phone can activate. Walmart is not properly scanning these phones and trade ins are getting denied because of anti-theft. Buy these phones in store if you can! try to activate online and if error take the whole phone box package to store and have them rescan and reissue back to you or get replacement. check to make sure IMEI of "new" device can be activated online before you leave store
if above can't fix your problem then do the following:
1. Reach out to straight talk CS and ask them to escalate with issuing ticket
2. They will tell you to do the following: Email pop@tracfone.com with name, contact number, ticket number (this is created by chat agent) and attach receipt proof and picture of IMEI (I took a picture of the card that has the IMEI and sim card number on it).
3. You should get email about 24-48 hours later that it can now be activated
4. If they ask you to activate with phone plan then buy this $15 plan and give them the PIN and other relevant information they ask for
https://www.target.com/p/tracfone...A-87908383
Takes roughly 15 minutes to come in after purchase to hit email.
5. If they didn't ask to activate on tracfone then visit https://www.straighttal
6. Insert sim if not already in, turn off phone and turn back on. Make a test call. If call won't go through wait 5 minutes. You'll probably get some texts from Tracfone and calling should work. They suggest to turn off and on again if not, but I didn't need to.
$25 at Amazon: (slow shipping)

Store trade-in is YMMV
- Most stores will uphold the promotion - if not, go to a different store
- Device usually needs to be in stock - some stores will ship if not in stock
- Stock is usually low and sells out fast - may need to try more than once
- Higher storage options are usually not available in stores - only online
- Tax is dependent on state - some charge MSRP, some charge discounted price
- Doing too many trade in in short amount of time might get your account flagged - only online is available then

Is it confirm that you can do trade-in in the store and get the trade-in value + promo right at that very moment? and just pay the price difference of the new phone.
assuming the new phone is available.
Thanks for sharing the info/tip!
2. Can I activate the S24 on the line, then use the line with a different phone for 60 days, then put the s24 back on that line, then request unlock or does the S24 needs to be on that line for 60 days before unlocking?
1) you will pay full price listed in check out on credit card
2) trade in will take up to 2-4 weeks to be completed, they are slow af
3) you will get the credit on your account normally by next billing cycle. Just call and ask them to credit your credit card back since you have a positive balance
To date i have done probably 10+ trades since last year. Once you do multiple trade ins you likely will get flagged and they wont let you do trade ins at store like me... lol.. can only do them all online going forward...
Some notables I saw which will likely do:
* Note 20 Ultra ($820 trade in) -> S24 (799.99 buy) will get you +$20 back on almost a 4 year old phone
* S23 ($927) -> S24 (799.99) will get you ~+127.01
* S23plus ($994) -> S24+(999.99) will cost only ~$5
some things to also consider after getting a s24 base model, last year they took a s23 trade in for s23+ for a gain of 0.01, which was nuts... so we will see if that appears after release date
The prices are changing it seems. Yesterday the S23 to S24 was getting $155 back
Also if you do the monthly payments on the device, then send in your trade in, can you pay off the remainder (thinking about sending in my S10 instead of my s23 so I would owe like $65) and unlock at the 60 days still or are you locked intot he device payments for however long?
May just wait until they are in store because then I avoid the taxes with a direct trade in, but paranoid they will end this deal early for some reason

My concern right now is that since yesterday the value of my S23 on trade in dropped 30 bucks.. I wasn't overly worried about the memory upgrade, so was just going to wait and do it in store for less chance of nonsense, but now wondering if in two weeks the trade in will be a LOT lower than it is today. Losing both the memory upgrade and a few hundred in trade in value would suuuuuck.

I will wait and try to get the s24u on release date. my only concern now is the availability of the S24u in-store.on release day. free storage upgrade is nice but I'm ok without it.
someone said on this thread that the promo will stay longer, hopefully we all keep the current TIV and promo when that day comes
So if you are planning more than two phones preorder, maybe worth checking.
I can get additional two phones, lines after my preorder order ships. Not sure if they will have same TIV.
1. Is 60 day service needed or can I pay for one month and keep phone in drawer, will it auto network/sim unlocck device after 60 days?
2. Can an existing wireless user open a new line for this deal? I dont have spectrum but can ask a friend to do.
3. Is this one device per account limit?

2. Yes, you can have your friend open up a line and pre-order for you.
3. In any cases, you can buy as many as you want but since is pre-order, you are limited to two orders per account.
For those that don't care about the extra storage, I would wait to do it in store. If they follow their own trend, the promo should still be active after pre-order period.
