I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

So the $50 Amex Spectrum deal is still available? I have the basic Amex no-fee credit card and it seems I never get the deals that are posted here on SD.
it's a numbers game with amex. With members of my family (authorized users) and their own cards and all that, we have a total of 50+ amex cards that get offers. Sometimes I get offers in 1 or 2 out of the 50. Some are consistently seen across the board, some are rare.

Although the unlock policy states minimum 60 days, to not arouse suspicion of you not having any intention of staying with Spectrum Mobile from the get go, you're gonna want to eat the minimum plan for about 3 months ($14 x 3 months). On Day 61, call/chat to request the permanent unlock, ride out a few more days of your last paid month, then cancel the plan entirely.
thanks, the problem for me is that I'm planning on canceling internet as well, so it's the lines plus the cost of internet. Frontier gave me a promo about 30-40 cheaper per month when I called to cancel to swtich to spectrum Stick Out Tongue

but there has also been a few mentions of no need for active service...e.g. if these are verizon phones...verizon doesn't need 60 days of active service, just 60 days from activation
Verizon is auto unlock after 60 days. Spectrum phone u hv to call in for unlock. The rep will look up your service history. Then proceed with unlock.

The plan costs $14 only for the first month. After January, the price increases to $20 per month.

I have received a message in an email that PreOrder and trade-in are also available in the store and also confirmed with a local store.

When you do the local store trade-in it will be instant credit towards your phone purchase.

Screen shot of the email attached
I went yesterday in store (CA) and placed my preorder. The rep said since its a pre order i have to mail the phone to assurant and they will value it, basically the same routine if you do online preorder ...i "paid' in full $1,400 instead of payments...the interesting part was online for my trade in offer showed $745 but in store the rep inspected it and it was valued at $764, i got an email confirmation on it which i guess was a small perk of going in store in my situation.

After they credit back the trade in amount to my account i will chat with spectrum to refund back to credit card. Do NOT call for this, the phone reps will tell you it cannot be done but i confirmed with chat that chat reps can dot it. If anyone is interested.

This is only available to Spectrum internet customers and they are already fleecing their internet customers. Also, if you have their internet, they are offering unlimited mobile phone service for $15 per month, which is good enough of a deal that many people will probably stay on it.
We are getting fleeced. I didn't see an unlimited mobile phone service for $15 a month, only $14.99 for a gig or $29.99 for two lines with unlimited data.

I have a 300 mbps plan with spectrum. I always call every few years to ask them to knock down the rate. Normally, it's supposed to be $85 a month! With their courtesy discount until 2025, they bring it down to $65.

It is a pretty good deal, we don't have any tv service, only internet currently and that mobile service is quite cheap per month that it may be enough for lazy people to not go through the hoops of cancelling service and going back to whatever phone provider they want.

So the person in store valued your trade in phone, but they didn't take it there and you still have to mail it yourself? I thought if you do this in store, they deduct the trade-in credit right then and there.
