I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.

Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Has anyone noticed that the Walmart Moto G Play model number is XT2271DL, but the trade-in email shows XT2271-5? I chose 'other' for the carrier. Will this small difference cause any trouble?

Not that our voice matters, but I'd say there's a good argument in our favor since 1. We selected "other" for the carrier 2. The model name on the trade in order says "generic". Whether it's a locked phone for Cricket or Straight Talk those are technically different models.

Additionally... though it seems like you can put in *any* IMEI - the IMEI they receive should match what was originally entered - so more grounds for it to not matter about the exact model #

I think that overall this is a better deal for me than ordering via Samsung. After trading in my S22U I'm at $380+tax vs $550+tax for out of pocket cost. One question though - if I know that using the monthly payment option gives me the TIV credit prorated onto bills for 36 months. If I wanted to pay off the device next month would I still receive the discounted total, or should that go away and suddenly I'm paying full price? Might be a basic question but I've never used a carrier trade-in service before.

Good Points. How do I safely pack the phone, because I thought the original packaging was fairly secure?

I verified the phone as well, but I might not use the original packaging based on the advice from the guys above.
It does not matter. I have traded-in many times (T-Mobile, Samsung etc.) and sent brand new phones few times and had no issues. The only time I had an issue with trade-in was with Samsung when I traded-in two phones (they come up this deal time to time) where they appraised only 1 phone. A quick call with Samsung support resolved it.

Why do they need your social security number and birth date? Are they doing the credit check on you?

Samsung has started to ship out the phone this morning; expected delivery to some this Friday. Hopefully spectrum will do the same. Spectrum does 2 day air through Fedex with signature requirement last I check, so hopefully this weekend at least.

Have they shipped early in the past?

No need to impress anyone that you're sending a brand new phone. Put some finger prints on the screen to make it look like a used phone. These deals are trying to get people turn in their old phones for new phones. Not asking people to buy a new phone to trade in.

I don't think it matters, I think they are carrier variants, but its the same phone. If they going to be that particular, they need to give the customer some guidance. Even their own IMEI search is a joke.

For those who bought a Moto G Play from Walmart, did you send in the phone in its original packaging?

whats the breakdown price people are getting for a last gen phone?

I was offered $913 for my s22 ultra which I don't get until the phone is received.

So I am still at nearly $500 out the door, is that right?
this deal isn't right for that trade in. This deal is to trade in a crappy phone and get ~710-720 for it.
You are better off selling your s22 ultra elsewhere

If you have a free line there is no need. Additionally, this is not the same as signing up for post paid service at vzw or tmobile. You can sign up for internet without giving them shit and that is also post paid. If they need your SS for identity verification that is one thing, but not for a credit hit.

Went to check out the S24 series phones at BestBuy. The Gorilla Armor glass on the S24U is insanely farking good, especially for me in sunny SoCal.

At any rate, I'll be upgrading my S23U 256gb to S24U 512gb essentially for free (or profit). Gonna continue to use my S23U cos it's unlocked, it's my only phone at the moment & I'm on T-Mobile. I just preordered a S24U 512gb & S24 256gb. Here we go.

MATH POTATOES:
$1453 (S24U after CA tax & activation)
$902 (S24 after CA tax & activation)
$711 (trade-in value/credits back to my cc)
$90 ($30 x 3mo service for 2 unlimited bogo lines)
$90 ($45 x 2 prepaid MotoG Play 2023 phones from walmart used for trade-in)

1,453+902−711−711+90+90 = $1113 (gross hit on my credit card)

Call/chat to unlock both S24 & S24U devices after 2.5 months (or 61+ days) of active service/enjoying the shit out of both phones lol. Wait a few days, call to cancel (or port out) both lines.

Sell my mint S23U 256gb for ~600-700 and S24 256gb for ~500‐600 via private party to ultimately cover the gross hit on my cc & cover it well.

Lateral move, slick af boyyy.
Titanium Violet is gorgeous in person btw.

I'm not sure how assurant operate, but I prefer not to risk an employee ruining my trade in by selling the phone with my "original packaging". Keeping the original box can be useful as well in case you need to prove the trade in; whether by the iMei etc.
One might argue that the phone is quiet cheap but as I stated, i'm not risking the trade in promo which on our end is "$700+" nod
