I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

You have to activate it for unlocking.
After it's activated, does the phone need to remain active on a Spectrum line for 60 days for the unlocking?

"The device must be paid off in full. The device must be active on the Spectrum network for at least 60 calendar days. The customer's account must be in good standing. The device must not be reported lost, stolen or involved with fraudulent activity."

I would think that an "active" day on the Spectrum network that counts toward the unlock eligibility would entail any of the following while the phone is on & connected: a cellular ping, call, text, a few kb/mb of data used. When I did the Pixel 8 preorder promo, I made sure to fire out at least one text message per day for 60 days. I did not want to risk getting my unlock request denied on Day 61. Lol

Activate it and then do whatever you want with the phone. I got 5 pixel 8 pro and you don't have to do anything after you activate them to get them unlocked after 60 days.

And here I have no offers. I have 242 offers added to card but spectrum still doesn't show up.
Sorry these are always hit or miss unfortunately. I have 16 cards so that might be why I get almost everything.

Did anybody have any success in switching to physical sim after activation? I was hoping to use my Pixel8 pro for some more time but still want to start the unlock countdown

Confirming because this seems too good to be true:

Sign up for new mobile line. Buy s24, add trade-in. Pay the after trade total at check out (prefer to pay total price). Activate phone and new line upon delivery. After 60 days, request unlock. After it's unlocked, I can cancel plan and take the phone to another carrier. Spectrum will not impose claw back price on phone. I owe nothing to spectrum?

Is this right?

I have had horrific customer service experiences with spectrum cable and internet so I want to triple check my understanding of this deal.

For the S23 & Pixel 8 promos, I called them to unlock my devices on Day 61 & decided to ride out that third month/billing cycle ($14/mo by-the-gig plan) just to not raise any suspicion of my intentions to dip out on them all along. I just want the phones & down to ride out 3 months/billing cycles of paid service to get em, without getting my Spectrum account flagged for acquiring (and peddling) phones on the cheap, of course. I did the same shit for S23, Pixel 8 and now S24. Lol

Got my shipment notice, but estimated to come on Sunday. On FedEx delivery page, it even says Tuesday 1/30.

You guys are lucky to get it so early.

Nope. Activation fee for new lines is a standard across all carriers (except for T-Mobile kiosks at Costco, which is real nice lol).

Has anyone tried to trade in the A15 from T-Mobile/MetroPCS?
The phone is not showing up on the list of devices available for trade in.

You can change/swap your device . The line must be active and not the phone .After initial activation, make some calls or keep it for few days and then you can change the device . I swapped my device with iPhone and on 61st day requested spectrum to unlock my pixel 8 and it's done without any issues.
