I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Am I doing this wrong? Selected s24, my trade in is a s9. My total discount is 719. My monthly payment is 23.88 for 36 months. One time payment is 762.

Ah, that does not seem like much a deal. That would mean the retail price for a s24 is over 1400?

Edit: is it because my trade in value has not been calculated? So the total for s24 is 762. My trade in value is 719. When trade in is accepted, I will receive a 719 credit to my account. Making my total cost for a brand new s24 just 43?

If the latter is true, that is incredible.

Woof, I hadn't thought about that... can we flash the firmware to skip a splash screen while still on Spectrum?
During the S23 last year, I think people flashed it right away but that was after unlocking it. We didn't have to wait 60 days for the S23. For the S24, I'm not sure if flashing might affect the unlock process so I think it's safer to wait 60 days for the unlock first before flashing it.

Do you think we could flash the US firmware? That was the question I was about to ask to get rid of the Spectrum splash screen
You can definitely flash the US firmware. I did it for both the S23 and Z Flip 5 and the splash screen is gone now so it looks like a regular unlocked model.

You pay first and then they refund you the trade in credit later once they accept it.

I got an email to print shipping label and yes you provide the box
So called Spectrum support and it seemed like their system had a glitch and couldn't sent to my email. I gave them another email, then spent an hour with customer service because my return label did not show up in the email. After 2 hours, finally got a manager who was finally able to email me a valid shipping label. Sent it off today, thanks.

That is my experience too, you need to activate phone to get the countdown started, doesn't matter how long you use the phone and still get it unlocked after device paid off and active mobile line.
This is very interesting and surprising. So after I activate new phone which is paid in full, I could order another phone and activate the second phone on the same line? After 60 days, I could request unlocking for both phones?

you are not going to restart phone daily to see the splash screen. Its best to wait for unlocked first.

Finally jumped on this.

I was gonna do it "in-store" trade/ purchase, but I went to the store yesterday and I asked if they will have the S24U available on the 31st. they said most likely they will not get any stocks and maybe in 3-4 weeks time. so decided to do it online.

traded Pixel 8 pro 128gb for $1100 (got S24U Violet Paid $1334)
that's a good trade in price! that means $400 extra for 8 pro. vs. crappy phones. not bad. even if i sell on ebay, i can only get probabaly $400 after fees and shipping......

You could get more but the benefit is that you don't have to worry about aftersale. P8P still go for $550-$700 depending on the condition.

Good luck with FedEx delivering your devices. Was expecting an S24U today but they decided my address was incorrect and it's being returned to sender. The return tracking information shows the shipment is double the weight in a larger box. Wonder what kind of shenanigans FedEx bloomington is pulling this time.

Very weird situation 2 different order numbers in 2 emails. I am wondering if a trade in associates with Spectrum order number, or Spectrum phone number? Do you need to consider cancel order?
Contacted customer support. They see two different order numbers too on their end for the same order. They said it might be system miscalculated then auto updated. I was worried if later they would give trade in promo failure due to the order number change. They can't confirm on that.
I ordered on 1/24. Anybody else's seeing the order number change?

you will be risking the $700+ trade-in money, wait and try in store after 1/30
