I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

To everyone who sent in a locked phone for the trade-in, customer care said locked phones would NOT be accepted for trade-in. Please confirm if anyone got their locked phone accepted for a trade-in..

I added extra line to avoid this hassle. It would cost me just $30 for 2 months. Peace of mind.
same, thought about it and ended up adding a line, total extra cost would be $20 activation fee and $28 for 2 months. wouldnt want to risk it over ~$50.

What are you all using for insurance on these phones? I bought my previous phone thru costco (squaretrade plan), apple (applecare). This is my first time and the didn't opt for spectrum assurant $12.99/month insurance.
I appreciate any guidiance. Finally got charge notification from my cc and wanted to be ready when phone arrives. Thanks in advance 🌸
I'm gonna stick with Samsung Care+ at $10/month. I've had a good experience with them.

Could you elaborate? Did you trade in a locked phone and got your credit already?

Congrats on the new phone. Did the trade in through usps show traking details, mine shows accepted on usps and in transit on assurance. Went to the post office and they said that it's moving through the system and has not scanned yet. Delivery date is Feb 1st so waiting on that before I inbox the new phone.

Locked to network = OK, locked with Google account or any other accounts = NOT ok, payments still due = NOT ok, device credits are still in affect = OK as long as you don't drop the plan/carrier but that will be between customer and phone company, there are some exceptions depending on how carrier marks device in the system but if it specifically says "financial responsibility has not been met" or something along those lines there's big chance it will get rejected.
