I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I went to a different store and they had no problem completing my trade in.

I just can't wrap my head around how that can actually work. It's not really much of a risk though because if your phones don't unlock correctly using this method, I guess you can always put them on another Spectrum plan later on for 60 days to unlock.
I thought about doing this, but then I would need to trade in 2 devices for the original S24 and the S24+ upgrade on the same line. Spectrum's FAQ re trade in says "1 trade in device per new line".

Given my original line were to be upgraded, I figured it would count as 1 line because phone number wouldnt change. Not worth the risk of 2nd trade in device being rejected, which technically Spectrum could do, so I opened a new line. Better safe than sorry.

Rep at my local store (TX) claimed they didn't have any yet because they all go for preorders first. Also said its impossible to call the store to check on stock. I don't mind waiting, just don't want my Pixel 2xl to lose its trade eligibility.

For those wondering whether a locked phone qualifies for trade-in, I just traded in a Walmart Moto G Play in-store. I had to tell the salesman it's a Moto G Play 2023. The worst part is that he lied to me, saying I am not qualified for the gig plan but for the Unlimited plan. I didn't want to argue and just processed the payment. It's still a good deal though.

100%, this is the part where I hate going to the store at times. Either the deal is too good, they don't want to honor it therefore making these excueses.

For those doing the B1G1 unlimited plan, it can be cancelled anytime as well right? Just want to making sure. nod

Stores mostly have 128gb devices. They do not have enough stock for 256gb. Is that what you were looking for? Me and several others traded-in and brought new S24 series today in store.

To everyone who sent in a locked phone for the trade-in, customer care said locked phones would NOT be accepted for trade-in. Please confirm if anyone got their locked phone accepted for a trade-in..
fake news, they meant only phones that are not icloud or samsung locked.. not the carrier lock

Maybe if you open a new line, you can trade in a device for the first phone. Then if you get an offer to upgrade on that same line, you can trade in a second device for a second phone because the "upgrade" would make it be considered a new line again? I'm going to need to read a step-by-step walkthrough or something.

Nope, they just didn't have any of the S24 series, but still had some S23.

Yea seems like basically we need 2 lines if we want to get 2 phones with 2 trade in devices to be safe

The only reason a Spectrum Store shouldn't do the deal is:
- No Stock
- Not authorized on the account
- Expecting double storage, as that promotion is not valid now
- Don't have Spectrum Internet service
One thing to mention is that some stores do accept the deal even if they don't have stock. They just mail it to you. My local store offered to do that.

With Spectrum stores, it's really YMMV. If you can do it in store, awesome. But if you can't, just do it online.

Also doing it too many times in store flags your account from what I remember from past deals. Those people then can only do it online and not in store.

They get a small commission for every new line open or upgrade for an existing line. They might have been lazy or just plain dumb to know about how the promo works.

If you do the trade in at the store do they give you the credit right away or do they have to mail off the phone? I am thinking about cancelling my online order if it doesn't ship in the next day or two (can't get to a store until Friday night anyways) and then pay for the phone I want in store... Even if I have to pay extra for the ram upgrade.

7 days since I ordered and no update. Told by their customer service it should ship today. Though I doubt it ships out this late in the day...

How do you know if something is Samsung locked. I sent in my dad's old s21. He didn't know the Samsung pw to do a regular factory reset in settings so I had to factory reset from soft boot as I saw online. I assumed that unlocks everything but now I'm getting scared it might be still locked somehow with everyone talking about google/Samsung locks.
