FYI - purchase the trade in phones from Walmart in store, not online. Also make sure you pull them out of the box and run them through the setup so that they can hit the activation servers

I also received two denial emails for my two Walmart phones. I called Spectrum and Assurant, and neither could help. The nearest Walmart is about an hour's drive away, while the nearest Spectrum store is a 10-minute walk. I'm going to take the two phones back to the store and eat the $100 restocking fee. Screw those idiots at Assurant!

Purchased some Moto g plays in store at Walmart. They scanned them and I ran them through the setup and the trade in is $711. They came with SIM cards in them. Should I leave the sims in them or remove them?
you can remove the sim card.

What reason did they provide for denying your trade in?

Same as other's: anti-theft. I have videos of the packaging and the entire reset process to prove there was no account ever logged in on the phones. They refused to even watch the videos and insisted that just resetting doesn't disable the anti-theft feature. I explained that the phones were brand new and I never logged in any accounts, but they wouldn't budge. Anyway, I'm returning them and hoping Assurant can send my phones back ASAP so I can take advantage of the in-store deal.

I keep video recording and all the images that the phone is 100% sure according to the condition we selected.

Ready to file a complaint with the State Attorney General's office, FTC for their trade practice, and BBB with all the proof. They will come to resolve this ASAP. Whoever has a problem and has proof that your trade is 100% valid and legit..... then give them a Fight. You can also file a claim in Small Claim Court at your local level and also File a Chargeback via Credit Card.

I also placed a Note in the box with the Tradein receipt ... "If you need the video recording for the Phone Condition and Packing video can provide you to review."

I do have everything ready. As I faced a problem with my Google 8 Pro trade they say instead of a phone (Note 2) I had send some tablet with a Generic version. I send all the info and CC to the state attorney General's office to review the case. Received a Check from Assurant in the mail within 7 days with an apology email.

If you ordered online you return online. If you ordered in store you return in store.

Did you purchase online? If so, just be aware that the website says online purchases cannot be returned in store.

Also, when did you mail your devices? It sucks that they were not accepted but at least you found out within the return window. Mine is stuck at Coppell Distribution Center scan and I am nearing the 14 day mark.

I am also going to be filing a complaint with the Inspector General for USPS's failure to properly deliver and scan packages that arrive for delivery to Assurant. It is fraudulent for USPS to skip delivery scan and report packages as lost when in fact they are either sitting in a USPS facility or delivered. There is definitely many consumer protections that are being violated with all of this, and maybe there is even a lawyer who would be willing to take up a class action.

The anti-theft is walmarts fault. Walmart did not scan the phone to release imei for activation before shipping out.

If it says in the system it is with USPS then it is Assurent's responsibility that it is received. If they lost it is their loss... once you drop off the package and it is with the USPS and tracking shows it is picked up... then it is USPS and Assurent to find the package... That is Consumer Law.

Does spectrum pro rate? I see many people saying to keep service for approximately 62 to 67 days, but if they don't pro rate wouldn't that be paying for 3 months of service rather than 2?
