I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Good point.

However, the problem lies here:

"In order to receive a refund or exchange, Spectrum must receive the Mobile Device within ten (10) days of you receiving a return authorization from Spectrum."

Who's to say that it doesn't take over 10 days for the package to be received by spectrum...

In which case you could be screwed on two fronts (if your online trade-in gets cancelled) and your phone return doesn't get received by spectrum in time.

Once you drop it off, it's literally and figuratively out of your hands. So I don't know how they are acting like you should somehow be responsible.

Should really be a matter of you have x number of days to drop it off, and that's it. How long it takes to be delivered, that's not on me. But that's life, a bunch of "should be's".

Can't. Days order must be returned via mail.

"A Mobile Device that Spectrum directly mails to you cannot be returned at a Mobile store location. Additional requirements are listed below."

Is spectrum's online order return policy 14 days from date of purchase or shipment? Website says below but email for order says shipment

, you have fourteen (14) days from the date of purchase to initiate a return.

PS: thank you to everyone said don't bother activating the Walmart moto device. Not expensive lesson but definitely annoying lesson learned

My Trade in phone was received by assurant on 1/29 and was supposed to be assessed by 1/31 but still no update. Do you know how much more time it can take as i'm running out of return window of 14 days if by any reason trade-in doesnt get approved though i sent them a working iPhone unlocked on all carriers.

Thanks, from doing my research looks like Samsung might be the way to go. Do most of you on here get insurance?
I started getting insurance from Samsung S7 Edge on. Screen repairs are super expensive on these devices. Justboiece if mind for me.

Correct, activation is not required. But if I'm understanding the Walmart issue correctly, you at least need to ensure that it "could" be activated. Meaning, begin the process and see if it gives you an error or not after entering the IMEI. If it lets you go through this stage, then you're good! Otherwise you might have the trade-in and anti-theft issue.

I chat with customer service and they told me the 14 day starts on the date of shipment. In my case, the shipment of the device was 1/30/2024 even though I placed the pre-order on Jan24th. This shipment date is also on the receipt included in the shipment box.

I'm not sure if it will apply to anyone directly, but if you are having issues with spectrum and you are fully justified, then hold your ground. Keep everything you can. Screenshots, calls, times and names. If you were able to point them to specific interactions, they can tell pretty quickly what really happened.

I had an issue where I asked the color of my device to be changed to another as the one I wanted came in stock. This was on the other side of the pre-order window. I said I would only want to go forward if it would not affect the pricing. The sales rep, of course wanting to earn a sale, said "yes of course we can match the original double your storage pricing!" Lo and behold they canceled the original order (without my express consent) and are magically unable to honor the original price on the new order.

Several chats and phone calls later, it was suggested that I immediately ask to talk to a supervisor. They were able to sort it out in minutes. As helpful as some of these sales and billing reps can be, if you're having any struggles then save everyone time and escalate as soon as you can. Keep in mind, carry each conversation with respect and a level mind. And only pursue things that you are 100% justified in knowing you are correct. In my case I think the chat rep truly misunderstood my original issue. Thankfully, a supervisor was able to read this directly and amend the issue.

So you got a refund for the higher storage or bill credits? I'm in similar boat but they are offering me $2 bill credits for 36 months as consolation lol

Yes. I originally paid in full, so I got a full $120 back to my bill. It's my understanding, a similar to the trade-in credit, you can request this to be refunded to your card on file.

I wouldn't let them give you the $2 a month lol. Unless you are already doing bill credits, then that makes sense. But only 1% of people are doing that most likely...

Mine does not show as delivered anywhere, it just shows as "in transit" for days but has been sitting at the destination for over a week now. It arrived in Texas very smoothly but then no processing.

I have had similar experience with Spectrum where their sales/retention people told me one thing but then the next day nothing they said was true. I was told one thing and then the next day when I followed up on it they claimed there was no notes from the previous person and acted like they could not do anything about it. Had to keep calling back requesting elevations until I got somebody who was willing to do something. So I definitely have very little trust with Spectrum. Anything that they tell you that is not part of their standard/system default should be taken with a grain of salt and prepare yourself for a headache.

This is why I am particularly concerned right now hitting the 14 day mark of the return period with Assurant not yet processing my trade in. Even if I call Spectrum and they tell me one thing how am I to trust what they are saying given the previous headaches?
