I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I had a smooth process last time I did a trade in with Assurant. Never again after this experience. Unacceptable to me that USPS would not properly process and scan packages that they are handing off to Assurant so that USPS, Assurant, and Spectrum all then claim they have no clue where the package is and to just wait. At least yours is showing as received.

Did you purchase online? When you initiated the return did they say they were cancelling the trade in at the same time and would return the trade in?
yes it was online, I returned it today 2/5. no the said contact Assurant and now I'm figuring out how to return the old phone. it maybe lost or back again, I have no idea.

TO EVERYONE that did the walmart option with failed activation / blacklisted imei - following my original instructions of calling straight talk (activate a phone and pressing 0 for getting a customer rep), generating a ticket, emailing them the information, after calling Straight Talk again the next day for a status on the ticket - the impression I got was the CSR rep immediately activated the phones since during the call 1 of my IMEIs was still blacklisted but after the call it wasn't.

If you find any trouble then file a complaint to your State Attorney General's office, Also file complain to FTC and FCC, and for USPS file complain to post master General. More complain this company will act fast to correct the issue.
True, and for USPS then you could file complaint with Inspector General. I plan to do this because of the intentional delay and lack of delivery scan with the Coppell Distribution Center. It is a form of fraud if USPS is intentionally not scanning packages as delivered, especially when we are talking about handing off electronics that can easily be stolen to a tech processing company.

What happens if you do not contact Assurant and they process the credit after you have returned the device? It is strange that Spectrum would not be involved in the process.

As far as the 14 day window being extended, it might be possible, but I wouldn't count on it. You have basically no leverage if they simply refuse to do it and just say "read the agreement, it states you have 14 days" and go from there.

If you're getting close to your 14 day window closing, you really have a tough choice to make. Either you return the phone and lose a good deal, or you risk ending up paying full price for the phone (a really really bad deal). I would probably errr on the side of "return the phone, wait for the next deal", but everyone has to decide what is best for their situation. And if you opted to trade in a decent phone (with some actual value), it's even tougher because you won't get your traded in phone back if you return the S24. So it's risky either way.

I guess the big lesson here is never to do a trade-in deal where you don't have a chance to opt out AFTER you've gotten confirmation of the value they are offering for your trade-in phone, or you risk getting majorly ripped off.
Who said you won't get your traded phone back?

spectrum completely remove their hands from this process, they say it's run by Assurant and they're not responsible about the trade in.

Okay, so then what will happen when Assurant tries to issue you a credit if you have returned your Spectrum device and not notified Assurant to cancel the trade in?
