I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

I received the email saying my trade has been approved and the device has passed the inspection and my trade credit is confirmed. It says I should see the fund within 2 billing cycles and if I don't contact them. Do I just wait or can I contact them now to get my refund?
Same here. I chatted with their rep, and was told it usually shows up in the first bill. Then I can contact them and ask to refund it to my credit card.

Are you guys able to replicate the deal at Spectrum store? I understand you will not get the storage upgrade but wondering if you had any luck for those who commented they were going to the stores.
yes i did it yesterday with no issues. I just got the basic s24 but it was about $150 out of pocket with $60 being tax

If I recall correctly from last time, and some of the recent comments here, the credit typically shows up within a few days. I think they say wait a couple of billing cycles to be safe. You can just check on your spectrum account under mobile billing and the credit will show up there when it is available.

Even if you trade in those phones in bestbuy you will get better price. Calculate everything before you return. In Bestbuy you get $600 at least for ultra. Consider the 1 month payment +restocking fee. Just a suggestion only
Yes that's what I was counting on and no need to deal with trade ins, waiting period of 60 days to unlock etc. Of course I will lose 512gb for price of 256gb but I need peace of mind and less risk. I can buy 512 gb on marketplace for 700 now. It can only go down from here.

Alright thanks. I'll wait a few days.

I would consider buying a phone at the lowest price you can find on a marketplace to be higher risk than getting a brand new phone from Spectrum, especially if you are stating they are the same price. There are definitely pros and cons to each and the Spectrum deal is best for those who get a free Spectrum line with their internet service, but buying a phone from the marketplace is not without risk either.

Also, right now S23 Ultras are going for around $700 on marketplaces like Swappa. So not sure S24 pricing is going to fall off a cliff as fast as you are suggesting if you are saying that you are already seeing S24 Ultras for the same price.

For reference, right now on Swappa the lowest price for an unlocked S24 ultra is $1100, not sure where the $700 figure is coming from for a S24 ultra.

I went for two Walmart Moto Gs in store. One was approved and the other got denied for anti-theft even though the IMEI came up ok on the straight talk website.

Anyone know how to talk to a person at Assurant? Already tried sending an email but I think I might just be SOL

The approval e-mail has the following number 1-833-224-6603, but that appears to be for Spectrum Mobile. So maybe just try calling that number and see what they recommend (you can confirm it in the e-mail you got for the approval if it is not in the rejection one).

Whew. Finally showing progress after being stuck at origin for close to a week!
Update on my drama. Posting in case others find it helpful.

Sent two trade-ins on 1/29 (Metro S23FEs). 1st trade in delivered on 2/1 as per USPS. Second was stuck from 1/29 to 2/3 as "in possession of item" on USPS. It started moving again on 2/3 and was delivered on Monday morning (2/5) as per USPS.

Spectrum acknowledged first trade in and said:
Your device was received at our warehouse on 02/02/2024. It should be assessed by 02/04/2024. No assessment or update, but I now a credit on my account that includes tax on the money back.

Second trade still says In Transit - Your device is on it's way to our warehouse!

I did a chat and they are going to transfer the credit balance back to my credit card in 3-5 business days.

I placed ultra on Jan-17 and sent my trade-in device on Jan-22. Somehow, their system canceled my order automatically, for they don't have any reason. Now, my trade-in device got approved by Assurant and sent the credits for $975 pixel8. But it is not reflecting to my account. After several follow-ups reached out Spectrum Lead support and he said credits would be sent to me as a Check by Assurant. I'm not sure what will happen.

Does anybody have an idea on it?

I was wondering that myself. That would be big if true because that would basically mean people could just place orders with trade in and cancel and then receive $700+trade in. It just seems strange that they would allow such a major exploitation. I wonder if they are actually going to give you the $700 promotion (which was for the phone purchase) or if they mean you are just getting the trade in value of your device without the promotion.

My thought is that the $700 promotion is coming from Spectrum and the trade in value is from Assurant, so you might just get the trade in value from Assurant.

That all being said, this was all coordinated between Spectrum and Assurant, so I am not sure why Assurant would be expected to issue a payment directly to you instead of to Spectrum. It seems to me their system is automatically issuing payments from Assurant to Spectrum, who then credits the account.

That's why I checked with him twice and trice, he said if they don't not send a check in couple of weeks, reach them back and they will email Assurant.

Also, when original order was canceled, I reached out them through chat and the Rep suggested that I place 2nd order without a trade-in and said later trade-in credits can be mapped to 2nd order. I did the same. But now they're saying it cannot be.

If you have a copy of the chat then you have a pretty good case to get your credit if Assurant does not send it. If Assurant sends you a check for the full amount (i.e. $700+trade in) then that is just crazy because then everybody will start exploiting that. If Assurant just sends you the trade in value then f you have a copy of the chat then you could make the case that Spectrum should credit the other $700.

it's completely messed up and scam process, after I returned the new phone due to the delay from Assurant "10 days processing" I have been told that I won't get my old phone instead I will get $7 for the credit and no promo.
in this process you will be between losing your old phone or paying in full if trade in get rejected for any reason. adding to this too much communications and wasting of time.
