I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Yes, Walmart moto phone. Didn't activate the phone at the counter. Just bought it as traded it in as the wiki mentioned that we don't need to activate, but they did scan it. I actually traded two phones. One was accepted and the other is being denied. First they mentioned anti theft. When I sent receipts, they are now saying it's carrier locked. It's been frustrating. Went back and forth with them 5 times. Now I even passed the return window.
Have you tried entering the IMEI number on the straight talk activation page to see if it accepts the IMEI? If it doesn't it means WalMart didnt scan it in properly when they sold it to you.

The order # does appear on the billing history. I'll give till this week and see if there is any update since the S24 Gray 256GB seem to be in stock now.
Not sure if calling and speaking to the managment will help solve the issue due to their track record. The ideal resolution would be re-order and credit me back base on my previous order trade in details.
When you tell them the order number they say that they cannot find it? It seems strange that there would be an active order showing on the website and then they claim that they find it. Obviously it is in the system or you would not be able to see it.

is there any way to figure out if a Spectrum store has stock without going in person?
Call the store and ask.

Could someone please post Assurant's contact info? Email? I'd like to have them re-check the phone they denied due to "anti-theft". I believe the issue as been resolved and IMEI released properly.

I did. It does accept. Although I didn't finish activation because I have to purchase plan and add balance for it.

Pretty sure, it's not anti theft. After sending Walmart receipts and boxes the phone came in which has IMEI and UPC, they are now saying that it's carrier locked which I cannot argue I guess

Wow you make it sound so simple like nobody has ever tried that before. Let us know how it goes after you call every number you find for the stores nearby.

Hi, I have a s10e old with screen defect. The store is ready to take trade-in but they told it will be double inspected once reached to Assurant.. my concern is can they roll back the trade in provided in person at store? Can they remove the trade-in amount after second inspection??

Reality is the Wiki that was put together here and all the information that people are saying is just speculative in terms of what is causing the issue. You have several people saying that they followed the instructions and were reject and others who did not and were accepted. My personal opinion is there is probably one or more Assurant employees that does not know how to properly process the phone.

Spectrum/Assurant accepts carrier locked phones for trade in, so while you may not be able to argue that your phone is not carrier locked I am not sure how it is grounds for rejection. I would think it would be an easier case against the carrier lock than the anti theft because Spectrum specifically even asks you to input the carrier before accepting the trade in. I would guess most people here have been sending in carrier locked phones since Spectrum accepts them.

Somebody posted similar comment recently. I have personally not done an instore trade in and asked if they had you sign or agree to something that Assurant could later overturn the acceptance. That would really make the whole instore trade in benefit pointless. Most people said that once Spectrum accepts the trade in at the store it is final. So maybe some Spectrum employees are mistaken and do not know that they are suppose to be rejecting phones that do not qualify.

If I was doing an instore trade in, I would want to make sure that I have confirmation from them that the trade in is final and that Assurant cannot overturn it. Last thing people need is Spectrum pushing account balance to negative $700 or worse for people who have been doing several in store trade ins, especially with the Walmart phones.

have you tried to find a # for a store? only if it was that easy to get hold an individual store since the phone # is just their hotline. And yeah, Spectrum CS confirmed they have no way to check in store stocks and not able to give out phone # for a store. Disappointing.

Is anyone else in the same boat as me? I had two trade-ins shipped on 2/5. Status did not change at all for the one phone up until 2/15, when it changed to delivered and assessed on the same day. The other phone still shows that it is in transit. It's making me very nervous since the deadline is 2/24.

Sorry, your comment did not put what you had previously tried. I checked a random store and it had a number but I now see that they just put the same number for every store. Just another reason to dislike Spectrum.

Yes, lots of people around that period had similar experience. There seem to be a lot of packages around that time that did not have delivery scan, so they just randomly pop up as being assessed. Mine was evaluated right at the deadline for return but I think some have reported that theirs went outside of return window.
