I do not recommend Spectrum Mobile. They are an MVNO on Verizon towers and when the network is congested, you have little to no connection because your priority is so low. There is also no upgrade option for a prioritized connection. I dropped them after 1 month.
I test with the following tiv samsung phones:

A14 $714
A54 $770
S23fe $880
S23+ $994
Trade in my Google Pixel 6A for $757 that I originally got from metro for $50 years ago. Makes this a true slickdeal 🫡

Yes, lots of people around that period had similar experience. There seem to be a lot of packages around that time that did not have delivery scan, so they just randomly pop up as being assessed. Mine was evaluated right at the deadline for return but I think some have reported that theirs went outside of return window.
Thanks. Just confirming - you mean it was still assessed even though the trade-in deadline had passed?

Sorry, I misunderstood, I was talking about the return deadline. I am guessing yours will be fine since your other one was assessed and you still have this week, you could e-mail Assurant if you want just to have some sort of record of communication (probably will just get the same generic response as others saying they are working as fast as they can). Sometimes the update in Assurant has also populated with dates from a few days prior. That all being said, the other thing if this was a preorder is that the Spectrum website does say for preorder and backorder devices you have 45 days.

https://www.spectrum.net/support/...ile-device

Assurant does not seem to take it into account, but you might want to take a screenshot of the 45 days statement that is there.

I just called Spectrum as my phone has been stuck in "assessment" for days after I received a reject letter with no reason. They said the phone is too old, even though their website accepts the phone as a trade in and is listed. There only suggestion is to simply return my phone lol. So I'm out $50, a bunch of my time and the free storage upgrade.

Pretty terrible experience all around.

Thank you for the very helpful information. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it is assessed in the next five days.

Did Spectrum tell you that? I would try contacting Assurant through their e-mail to see if that is the actual reason. Does not make sense if you sent in the accepted phone model that they generated the trade in for. If they come back saying the same thing, you could escalate it with Spectrum and say that you have a copy of the purchase/agreement showing the agreed upon trade in device model and since you fulfilled your part they could at honor the $700 credit. Beyond that you could go the BBB/FCC/Attorney General office route. Depends how far you want to push it, at the minimum I would ask that they waive the $50 restocking fee.

Thanks! I might try BBB or FCC.

Caught something: Ironically, I just went online, and the Note 4 is no longer on the devices acceptable, when ti was just a few weeks ago. So this is clearly an error on their end and not our fault when they accepted it previously.

I sent a Samsung Note 4 that was sitting in a drawer, which was $5 plus $700 promo. They are saying I sent them a Samsung S5 and they revised the value to $0, and it is not eligible for the trade in. They asked me to accept this offer, or decline and they would return the phone. Either they mixed up my phone with someone else, because only a blind person would miss the stylus included with the phone.
Did you ever get this resolved? They rejected mine and I noticed the Note 4 is suspiciously absent from the trade in phone options now...

Select others select Samsung and enter "note" it will show up.

My screenshot for the approved Trade is attached.

Interesting! It doesn't show on Samsung/ATT. God they're horrible. Trading in-person the next time for sure.

I had the same issue with them for my Note4 that was sitting in my drawer. When It was traded in for the Pixel 8 Pro and they sent me all bullcrap. with different models and screen attached.

I inform the State Attorney General's office, BBB, and FCC/FTC and they all become active at the same time. I had a complete video with all the details and also had the original box. I screwed them up and got the Check in the mail in 7 days after State Attorney General's office was involved.

I am attaching the Screenshot.

Send them the screen shot with your IMEI verification please check this is very detailed IMEI Verification Site and give you all the detailed
Validation..

I did just file a BBB complaint but maybe I'll do one for the AG.

In my mind, this is entirely bait and switch. Sell you a $1400 phone and now your credit disappears after your return window is closed. I know none of it is on purpose, but their response is so upsetting. Spectrum just refers to Assurant as "they" as if they don't choose who they do business with. Scapegoat 101 and it's maddening. I wouldn't be so upset if the reasons were VALID, but no one can tell me why it's rejected and they all just make stuff up - damaged, screen, IMEI, you owe money. They just tell you whatever to get you off the phone.

At least it seems like we may have identified a common thread to some of the unexpected rejections, it is related to the Note 4. Sounds like Spectrum and Assurant accepted the trade in but when they receive it they have issue processing it in the system and come up with some nonsense rejection reason.

Thanks for sharing. So frustrating going through this, when a simple IMEI check would tell them they screwed up somewhere. The fact that they pulled the same thing with you, shows that this is a pattern.

I did send screenshots from Swappa's IMEI verification page. If I don't get this resolved soon, next step is filing FCC and AG complaints.

You motivated me. Just filed with both the FTC and FCC. AG might be next. It's dubious that the return window is much shorter than the trade-in valuation. This should be extended at best.
