Seems like a solid deal for an office-type laptop. 512GB SSD, 120Hz display, WIFI 6 adapter, and can add more RAM hopefully. Perfect for meetings, etc. Used new user coupon for the $252 total.

Note: you need to use a new email address to get the 10% off coupon but once you have it, you can use it on your existing Dell account.

Quality has tanked. I've been looking for a few months to buy a dell in my price range before my 10% off and $120 back via amex expire. The reviews on problems are abysmal. I upped my price range from around $600 to around $800-900 and looked again - still crap reviews. I've been buying Dell laptops for nearly 20 years, but I haven't brought myself to buy one yet this time.

I've had multiple laptops in the $600 to $800 range and they've been crap. Comes with the territory.

For <$300, you're deep in crap territory.

this deal has popped up several times in last couple months if you want more info in old threads. I guess in recent past it was offered with 256GB SSD for about $30 less

Good find for a no frills, basic laptop. With all the negative reports with Dell on SD of late, I'd be hesitant. Repped though.

"Negative reports" in what way? Quality? Support? Curious what has changed?

I've had many in the price range I mentioned over the years, all Dells, and I liked them. The current ones seem to be lower grade than they used to be.

We buy all these laptops and they fail or become old in a couple of years, either hinges broken or screen malfunction etc. I have 5 such windows laptops sitting non-functioning of which 3 are Dells . Can you guys suggest me what I do with them? Are there any exchange old laptop programs ? Non functioning laptops usually get 0 dollars back with Amazon like sites programs..

I think that staples sometimes gives like $10 for recycled stuff, but I don't think you're going to get much more.

I have an 10-ish year old laptop I'd like to get at least $50 for, but doubt that's going to happen. Maybe try best buy or office depot? Let me know if you find anything, as it's just taking up space at this point.

Check eBay and see if your laptop model has listings.

If your old laptop is a well-regarded business computer such as a ThinkPad T series (i.e., T420, T430), you might be able to get something for it. If the laptop doesn't work, you can list it for 'parts only'.

If it's a 10-year old consumer model, it's probably not worth anything unless you have several of the same laptop; then you might be able to list all of them as a bundle. Someone might have interest if he/she thought they could cannibalize parts from the lot.

I received a wrong 2-in-1 that had no touch screen and the screen won't even fold back. It was just a regular laptop.

Support was horrible and rude. Even offerred $50 for me to keep it. I said no thanks..had not bought a Dell since. Sticking with Thinkpad for now.
