I have no experience with the Whalen ones mentioned above, but after putting these Edsal ones together, I don't think I would have any concerns about recommending them. They're Edsal brand, but on the box it actually has "Muscle Rack" branding too, so just FYI on that if that means anything to anyone. But yeah, they're super sturdy/solid and easy enough to put together once you get the hang of it.
In my case, the instructions didn't quite match the physical parts when it came to the smaller cross-bar support things. The instructions showed these angled tabs on the small cross-bar support pieces that were supposed to slot into slits on the main shelf bar. Instead, mine just had holes on each and then nuts/bolts to attach them together. Not a biggie, but it did trip me up a little bit at first.
Pro-tip on that note: be mindful of which way the threaded part of the bolt is pointed (up vs down). I put the bolts in willy-nilly at first, but then realized on one shelf that I had at a specific height to perfectly fit the 27 gallon black/yellow bins...if I had the threaded part pointing down (instead of the flat bolt head), the top of the bins caught on that threaded part of the bolt that pointed down from the shelf above, and therefore the bins wouldn't quite fit. Had to flip those bolts to point up & then the bins fit perfectly. Hope that makes sense.
Also on that note with the bins: with the width of the shelves, those 27 gallon black/yellow bins can fit 3 on a shelf, but not 4. So with 3 on a shelf, there is some room left over that isn't quite wide enough to fit a 4th bin (if I recall, there was like 10-11 inches left after 3 bins, but the bins are like 20 inches wide). Again, not a big deal as I can fit narrower bins or etc in there, but worth mentioning/knowing.
Lastly, make sure you measure your vehicle to make sure the box will fit, and have a friend or someone help you lift them...as the boxes are pretty large/unwieldly, and quite heavy. Not worth slipping a disc to try and macho-manhandle it by yourself, ha.
Anyway, just my 2 cents on these since I very recently bought and put them together. Without having a time machine to get these at pre-covid prices, I'd definitely recommend pulling the trigger on these at $160 if your local Costco has them & you're in the market/on the fence. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk; hope this helps someone!

I don't know if you can take two of these Edsal units, remove the bottom shelf from each and use it to connect the two units to form 18 feet of shelving along a wall, as you can do with the Whalen units. That ability really makes the Whalen racks a good deal compared to smaller racks.
So, if you are looking for a lighter weight box to carry from the store and set up, this would work.

I'm more confident buying the Whalen because it seems like that is the more popular model at Costco, which would make finding matching units easier in the future.
If you need a few, the Costco Direct savings + the sale on the Whalen still makes it cheaper, if it is not sold out in your area.
