This is $749.99 + 10% off with ANY recycled monitor. I traded in an LCD that was over 15 years old and still got the discount. It appears this specific offer only applies to LG monitors.

Note that I was able to extend the warranty to 4 years with burn in protection for an out the door price with 7% tax for $842.23.

I have this monitor, it is great for gaming but text is hard to read due to subpixel layout and Cleartype. I would think twice if you plan on using for productivity, especially if you are picky about that kind of stuff.

Agreed, this should be viewed as a gaming monitor. An IPS would be far better suited for productivity work.

I was nervous about this, but it wasn't as big of a deal as I'd anticipated. I have the Acer version of this same panel, and I use it for WFH. Once you dial in the ClearType settings it's really not too bad. You can notice it on certain letters on certain backgrounds if you're really looking for it, but it's definitely not a dealbreaker to use for productivity.

Now if you're PRIMARILY using it for productivity and not gaming at all, then obviously skip this because OLED isn't for you. But I'm pretty close to 50/50 on WFH and gaming, and the insane boost in your gaming experience is definitely more than worth the trade-off for an occasionally fringed letter here and there.

OLEDs have some other slightly annoying quirks (sometimes will auto dim, or pop-up asking for a pixel refresh), but the gaming experience is so far beyond my old monitor (Dell 2716DG TN Panel, 1440p 144hz) that I can't even wrap my brain around how much better everything looks, even in SDR. There's just no going back.

Would the matte coating on this also contribute to the text being blurry? Should I wait for a glossy coating?

I traded a 15" LCD no problem. It's the store that's the issue.

Finally got it done. I ended up driving to the only bestbuy in my area and they took one look at the ad on my phone and said yep they do the promotion. Gave them an old broken Acer monitor
